So I joined the gym across the street from my apartment tonight, and after a romp on the treadmill, my roommate and I sat and had a chat with the man who owns the place. He asked if we were English teachers, and after I said yes, he had a moment. He went from a squatting position to sprawled on his butt on the floor, covered his mouth, widened his eyes and said "Ohhhh I know you! I have seen on tv teaching English!!". Now, I don't know who it is that teaches English on tv, but it's not me. I told him this, but I'm not sure if he believes me.
Anyway, I'm trying to look for photos of foreigners who teach on tv, to see who I may be mistaken for. Anyone know where to look? |

Well, just hope you don't look like Isaac Durst...they might put a little leash around you, name you BoBo, and make you dance to accordion music. |

Probably Lisa Kelley of Let's Speak Korean fame. I think that's her name? Quick search revealed crappy photos. |

| When I first started teaching, I had a class of elementary students who were convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that they had seen me on TV before. I tried telling them that I've never been on TV (well, maybe the local news once or twice), but they were insistent. They weren't really able to flesh out when they had seen me on TV or on what program though. To this day, I still wonder who they had me confused for, because they brought it up pretty consistently for a few months. They seemed to think I had some sort of secret TV life I wasn't telling them about. |

Lisa Kelley is very attractive..at least I think so. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, etc. She also speaks Korean I believe. She starred in a Korean movie, "Please Teach Me English." She was the english teacher  so maybe..?? |

It was Angela Kelly in that movie.
Lisa Kelly is the half-Korean lady on EBS. It seems she did English subway announcements for Seoul Metro. |

I'm sure he does. And before someone mentions the fact that he's doing quite well financially, it still doesn't change the fact that he's still drawing NSF at the International Bank of Integrity. |

Well, considering Koreans have told me I look like: Brad Pitt, Owen Wilson. Tom Cruise, Clay Aiken *shudder*, David Beckham...
The range of looks in that list, alone, proves that most Koreans can't recognize one whitie from another. I would just accept that the guy you were talking to, at some point in his life, has seen a white girl on TV, and thus you, as a white girl, ARE that girl. |
