I was wondering if anyone knows about and can provide a link to what temperatures are considered reasonable and unreasonable to work in with regards to public schools.

It's early and I've just woken up, but essentially I want to know what temperature in Korean law (I work at a public school) do I have the right to say turn on the bloody air conditioning!

Any and all help greatly appreciated

As long as people are working in the hot sun constructing sidewalks, working in shipyards, building roads, working in hot kiitchens, etc. etc. etc. you're SOL.

Turn it on if you want it on.

Bloody *beep* if you do.

It's not even hot yet.

There are 2 things you never touch.

1. Another Man's French Fries.
2. Korean Air Conditioner.

To freethought:
I feel your pain but there is no law...plus it is no where near what it will get like yet. It is still a little cool in fact.....

You will have a shock come summer.....

A korean teacher once told me
"If we turn it on in june, how can we survive in july and August. Let's just get used to(acclimitize) the heat for a little longer then summer will be easier to stand" - still turned it on though.

can't argue with that logic Smile

Several students and I were sweating a lot during my first morning class, probably because we are up on the top floor. I don't even want to imagine what it's going to be like in the summer Sad

Crank up the fans. Just make sure you have a window open to avoid accidental fan death in the classroom. Laughing

The weather is just nice now.

Not too hot or cold.

I suspect that if you are over weight cheeseburger eater then you may need a bit of extra talcum powder in your crotch.

Mrsquirrel,

A little bit of extra talcum powder in the crotch ALWAYS feels nice, regardless of cheeseburger consumptive proclivities....

i love the way some people respond to this as though I'm claiming I'm melting like the wicked witch of the west...

I've got a shaved sack and a waxed back, so I'm well shorn.

The main thing is that my school didn't even turn the heat on in my classroom during the winter, so we're dealing with some prized fish here. I'm looking for some leverage to use against them so I don't have to deal with extreme heat like I did the cold.

At my hagwon, if the class room is hot, I send one of my students to the front desk to ask them to turn it on. The theory being they'll listen to a client.
