Hi. Basically, can anyone please tell me if the gay nightclub "Flesh" in downtown Auckland is still there? Surfing the internet, I read that it was firebombed back in 2004, but I can't find any information later than that.

I used to be good friends and flatmates with the owner, but for various reasons he's difficult to contact by email or phone (long story). I wasn't too worried, because even though I haven't been back since 2002 I figured I could just turn up at the club to find him once I was back. But now that my wife and I are FINALLY planning to go back for a well overdue vacation (its going to be wierd after 5 years! ), if the club isn't there then I'd like to try to find him some other way well in advance.

So, please help me any gay or gay-friendly Kiwis! Is the club still there, or did it reopen somewhere under a different name? Where do Aucklanders go for some decent music nowadays?

Sorry, its a bit late, but thanks to Ekuboko and all the people who pmed me with help. In the end, it turns out that Flesh was reopened in a different location, but seems to have closed down a few months ago. Serves me right for waiting 5 years to get in touch again!
