Quote:
British experts suggest China may be executing prisoners to sell their organs.

China executed at least 3,400 people last year, more than any other country. Human Rights Watch previously said China had harvested as many as 3,000 organs from executed inmates each year. Last month, China admitted that organs had been taken from some prisoners without pre-execution consent, but it claimed that this practice was illegal and rare.

Now the British Transplantation Society says 1) evidence suggests organs "in the thousands" are being taken without consent of prisoners or their families; 2) the transactions "involve payment of money and may implicate patients and the authorities and judiciary responsible for the prisoners"; and 3) according to a BTS official, "It almost sounds as though the timing of an execution is at the convenience of the timing of a transplant."

I'm a pretty liberal guy, but harvesting the organs of child molesters, rapists, those nerds who do nothing but sit around all day making up computer virsus', and any other complete irreversable scum of the earth isn't a bad idea....
It would shorten the waiting list for those who really need a life-saving operation.... (kids who need a heart transplant etc...)

What would you do to prolong your life? If it meant going to China and getting a transplant for an unknown donor, could you do it? The wait times for transplants can be extensive but according to one Chinese hospital:

Quote:
Q.. How long must i wait for a suitable maching donor?
A. Usually, kidney and liver---more than 1 month; Heart---less than 1 month

Ethics aside, what would you do to survive?

The difference is they are harvesting the organs of "religious offenders", a.k.a. Falun Gong.

Peace

I agree with you 100%, I was just making a general statement about the conditions in the west and how i wouldn't be opposed to such an idea if it were done to the bottom feeders (type of people i mentioned before)...
I would never condone the execution of anyone who simply speaks their mind or chanllenges the government

in my view, a world with fewer falong gung or christians walking around in it is a good thing... hopefully their organs wont pollute whoever gets them.

Well anyone who believes Jonah lived in the whale, Jesus walked on water, or Mohamed had his heart removed in the desert buy a guy carrying a bowl of snow can hardly be considered a sane individual so the Chinese might be onto something.

Yes, really, see thats the problem with these fairy tales, people get away with spouting it cause they say "In my religion" before they start with the craziness, but in the end its still craziness. They were stories meant to express moral messages, not be taken literally.

That said, I don't really think people should be executed for their beliefs (no matter how crazy) but I find it interesting that Jinju, a man who has called for the slaughter of millions using nuclear weapons, would defend people who belief in magic.

Yeah, I kinda hope so!

Back to the OP. I can't get it out of my mind.. Humans being killed for their organs.

With Putin threatening the world with another cold war and the Chinese killing people for livers, all of a sudden ol Bushie doesn't look so darn bad anymore.

What a screwed up world.
