I'm wondering where in Seoul is a good place to see arty films, or as a friend calls them the CLA films of the title.

I've been schlepping through the mainstream bollocks of Yongsan DVDs, and getting what I can online, but now I REALLY just want to sit in a cinema and see a proper movie. Particularly the new Lynch film Inland Empire, and the latest Coen brothers effort.

Can anyone suggest a likely place to try? I've heard stories of a place in Insadog, but nothing more than that.

David Lynch and Coen brother films are 'arty'???

Good god man no wonder the West no longer colonizes countries and deals in the slave trade - it's ignorant people like you that are destroying the glory that was the white race~^^

Can't help you with the actual movie theater unfortunately...I walked by one once, kind of in the Jongno-Insadong area, but I can't remember exactly where.
However, as to online: if you don't already know about it, ISOhunt.com is a good place to get torrents. I like my Lesbian Amputee Flicks (LAFS) as well, and I can get them there sometimes.
I'll be watching this thread tho, to get directions to a real theater that plays weird movies; and, if anybody knows of one, a good online source of amputee cinema.
(Not literally...I'm no Ward Cleaver, but I draw the line well-shy of actual stump-humping thalydomide chainsaw midget porn.)
BTW the 'no country for old men' won't be officially released in the US until the fall. Doubt it'll come here before that...maybe the Pusan Film Fest tho?

I went to a theatre in Myungdong where they were playing a film about gay cowboys eating pudding. Come to think of it, that was Brokeback Mountain.
