Hello I would like to advise anyone that is looking for a job in the Daegu area not to sign with Kwak's English country in Chilgok. A friend of a friend was just ripped off heaps of money. They also ripped me off once in the past. They like to hire illegals because there is nothing that the illegals can do once they are ripped off. Previously they tried to make my friend who also worked there, work nine classes straight and when he refused they took to him with a gom-do stick whilst swearing at him in Korean. If anyone reading this still signs with them, you are in for a horrible year with them...... |

Avoid Ricky Nam and Kwak Yongil

I am another teacher who worked for Ricky Nam at Kwak Yongil. Most of the teachers who did not get paid just folded like Chinese fans; they didn't try to take him to court or report him or post anything on any websites. Of course you should not work with Mr. Nam or his partners; I agree completely with the teacher who wrote the ad below. We have paperwork to verify everything we say. He actually cheated a pregnant woman out of several million won--it was the most pathetic thing I have ever seen. This was the second Kwak Yongil to go out of business and rip off the teachers on the same street in the same town. Quack Young Eel takes no care in selecting hagwon franchise owners, nor does he take any responsibility when they rip off teachers. There has been a tremendous increase in the number of hagwons in the last few years, and I saw legal websites that estimated that half of them will go out of business. When they go out of business, the teachers don't get paid. Ricky Nam and his associates will make sure that you have the opportunity to work in a school that doesn't pay teachers. Quack Young Eel will have you start classes at 6:40 a.m., finish classes at 9:30 p.m., and earn the same pay as some of the world's most highly regarded slaves. |
