Hi:
What is a 350D going for these days? I'm looking at getting one with a multipurpose lense (the equivallen of a 28-80mm in traditional SLR format).
Checked Danawa, but the prics seem horribly inflated. I've come across a few people who wanted 650,000W for their 350D with a lense.
Any ideas or suggestions are welcomed. |

Used they run about 500k won.
For a new model it has been replaced by the 400D and they run from about 700k won (lens included) and a bit less for the gray market ones (600k ish).
These prices were off the shelf, in the box at Yongsan market 2 weeks ago (the big blue building across from the station). |

you can get a body for 460,000 won ... that's off danawa. buy your lens separately.
28-80mm lens is 170,000 ... that's 630,000 all up, so your original quote was only 20,000 won out.
i don't reckon you'll get it much cheaper than that ... i'm a nikon user and those prices are quite similar to the D50 (equivalent camera).
however, be careful buying kits. the traders in korea will rob you blind with their "deal" sets. they'll put bodies, lenses and kit together, then stick enormous markup on the price.
their sets with batteries, bags, tripods, etc are even worse ...
you're better off buying it all separately, over the counter, for cash. do it in the same shop (go to namdaemun) and you'll get a good deal if you're prepared to haggle ... but you have to be game enough to walk out if they don't meet your price. 9 times out of 10 they'll call you back in and knock a little extra off!!! |

Sounds kinda optimistic to me. Only once (out of ~20) has any of the Nam. dealers made any serious attempt to save the sale with a sudden discount as I walked away. (and, no, I'm not surly) I find just asking for their best cash price is the best way. Oh, and insist on a real receipt. |
