I'm about to dish out 100,000 KRW for a used system that comes with 9 games.
I'm not an avid gamer, just want something cheap but stable to pass the time.
Is this a worthwhile investment? If so, please explain. If not, please explain.
Thanks |

The original XBox is a wonderful system, especially if you're a casual gamer.
I rarely use my Xbox these days for gaming. It's much more useful / valuable as a Media Center. Once modded, XBox Media Center (XBMC) is all you need to watch DivX, XviD, and almost any video/audio file out there. It even plays packaged formats, such as OGG and MKV.
Plus, if you're into classic gaming, emulation on the XBox is great as well. It's pretty much capable of playing everything upto the Nintendo 64 era (many games for N64 don't play very well on the XBox due to system limitations).
Highly recommend that you softmod / chip your XBox and have emulators / XBMC installed. If you don't like burning movies / games onto disc, I'd also recommend replacing the default hard drive (think it's about ~6 gigs) with a larger one. |
