Has anybody done a visa run to Taipei? I'm thinking about doing one and wasn't sure how to go about it or if it is even possible. Any help would be appreciated. |

Haven't done it but it probably is possible. Just remember that very few countries have true relations with Taiwan and true embassies are hard to find. Look for a "TECO" office, they are he defacto embassies of Taiwan in most countries, tey can give you a definate answer. |

I did a Taipei visa run in Jan 2005. It was actually pretty easy. At the time it was an overnight service. Dropped it off at the embassy and picked it up the next day. There embassy is actually fairly easy to get to. It's located in a major government building so taxi drivers will know how to get you there. (Sorry, I don't remember the name of the building, but I remember it being close to the Hyatt and Taipei 101).
One bit of advice I'll give you is to arrange where you are going to stay and check in before going to the embassy. The hotels in Taipei are much easier to check into if you have your passport. |
