Not sure what it is, but I need some ideas. I have a song to teach about mi-guk money, that should eat up 15-20 minutes. I need 3 hours worth.

I imagine we're supposed to simulate being in a market.

Has anyone done this before or have any suggestions?

I've done it, and the students really enjoyed it. The best part was the funny money. We designed it online and printed off sheets. For the month before they could earn it for good behavior, attendance, and doing their homework. They could also have it taken away. So for that month the students were incredibly well-behaved.
My director came up with the idea to have the students bring in things from home that we gave them the fake money for. One classroom was the market, where everything was on a table with price stickers. As an activity we made handouts with English phrases for all the different levels and taught them those phrases the week before. We also had a cafe classroom where the Korean teachers made dok balki(bad spelling), pancakes, and cups with snack food in them. As for games, we did a word mission. We cut up laminated letters and had two boxes. The teacher in charge wrote a word on the board and the first student who found all the letters and lined it up won money. In another room we did tongue twisters. We also found them online. We cut them into strips and timed, using the teachers watch, how fast they could say them three times. This one was really popular, not only for the participants but for everyone watching or waiting their turn. The Korean teachers had some dart boards set up in another room, I wasn't really involved in that.
Finally, the students came in in shifts. We did it on a Saturday and it was arranged so we only had a certain number of students for every shift. If it had just been all the students at once I don't know if it would have worked. At the end of every shift we had an auction. The teacher in charge picked through the merchandise for the good stuff and auctioned it off. I hope this helps, if you have any questions pm me and I'll try to explain further.

A couple of ideas I can use there. I should have menioned that these children are Korea ages 6 and 7 and only 2 of them can read yet.

Maybe a treasure hunt? With that I put the students in pairs. I used questions about various things around the school, maybe you could do something with pictures. If you can get any kind of reimbursement from your director, do the cafe. A dollar for a cup of soda, a dollar for a candy bar, etc...The only problem is if it's a lot of students it could get expensive and your director might not want to lay out the money. As for the market part, if they can read numbers they should be able to handle it. Getting the merchandise from the kids was easy, there was a lot of crap, but there were also the parents who went out and bought a few things so their kid wasn't showing up with just crap. And then some games. You can even do ones you would do in class, but with fake money as the prize which they can they go and spend in the market room or in the cafe. If you can come up with some age appropriate games you should be fine.

I don't have a lot of experience with that age group, I'm hoping someone else will jump on with some advice??? I had one kindy class and their favorite game was with flashcards. I would have them make them as an activity, and I also did this with some of the older classes so I had a good selection. I cut down some copy paper into fours and gave them crayons. Then we made a list on the board of objects, food, or animals. They would tell me the words they knew to write on the board. Then for the game part I would show one student the picture and give them the marker. They would draw the picture on the board and the first student who guesses what it is gets a point. I don't know how well this would work for market day. You would need time to build up the flashcards, or you could buy some. The students would get crazy competitive, everyone screaming out answers, so if you had a lot of students it would just be mayhem. How about you start a thread asking for games for appropriate for your students level? Then you can choose the ones that will work. Or just change the title on this one.
