Joo, quote function. You know, I can't make any sense of your last post. At all. You say I'm wrong, but when I squint real hard it looks like you agree with me ... can't tell exactly where your contributions are, anyway.
And you forgot to say even one thing about Mitt Romney and Mormonism. |

Ok here it is simple.
1. Saddam shot at US planes.
Is this true or false?
| Quote: |
| 2. Saddam was not in compliance in 2003 |
Is this true or false
3. Saddam continued to threaten Kuwait.
Is this true or false?
4. Saddam tried to kill a US president.
Is this true or false?
5. His regime supported terrorists.
Is this true or false?
6. His regime taught hate and incited violence
Is this true or false?
Saddam never gave up his war. If he didn't give up his war then the US was justified in taking him down. Saddam didn't have a right to his war.
In fact here is one more question
Saddam never gave up his war .
True or false. ?

Then you have no business on this thread at all. Start a different one, my advice. This is a very old sort of pattern between us, Joo, and I've decided not to continue it. I brought the whole thing up speculate about why Mitt Romney would continue making false statements about the war in Iraq, even at this late date. If you have nothing to say about that, go elsewhere. I say that as kindly as I can. |

You put the discussion in this direction.
So I wanted to set the record straight. IF Romney's point was that Saddam never gave up his war then he would have been correct. |

But he didn't. He said something else. Why are you talking about something he might have said, but didn't? You confuse me sometimes.
He said Saddam kicked the inspectors out, and that if he hadn't then things would have been different. It's not true. Saddam didn't kick the inspectors out and they wanted to stay longer. Can you speculate WHY Mitt Romney would have said exactly THAT untrue thing? It was only a few weeks ago.
And why did neither his opponents in the debate, nor most of the media, correct him or confront him about it? This is what I'm asking.
At least you mentioned Mitt Romney this time. Good job.

well on that fact he was mistaken though he might have been correct in principle.
People make factual mistakes all the time. I can find more than a few on the other side. |

Well, we don't really KNOW if he was mistaken. Or if he just bought the lie.
WHY did no one call him on it, though? It's because all the Republicans standing next to him on the stage had probably said the same thing in the past. And it wasn't true.It was never true. |

It was true that Saddam never gave up his war. That is not in dispute
I might just what I can to make a list of democratic mistakes or lies in their answers, though I am not anti democrat in my opinion. I am more anti counterpunch and their ilk . IF I go there and similar sites I can really find lots of mistakes or lies. |

Wasn't Romneys father President of the then American motors? Didn't the father also consider running for President?
Imagine the scenario if A Mormon were to become President.
Utah get's a lot of extra federal funding maybe.
The Mormon University gains prominence.
The Mormons consider it the last days
The Whitehouse is innundated with Mormons and all the ash trays get thrown out.
All the Mormons will cringe when he makes a gaffe.
If he has to walk a line between his faith and poitics, he might even come down off his all goody good pedestal and show a more human side to his life. A side that the general population can more readilly relate too. |

How much power does a president have to toss pork at any one particular state? |

I suppose some Catholics fidgeted over this when JFK was elected ... mostly, it was Protestants who worried Jack would be on the phone to the Pope every morning about which bills ought to sign or veto. |

| What is it about a man's religion that puts him under a tremendous amount of scrutiny? By having a very interesting religion is he somehow not going to be a fit president? How he measures up as a politician is the real question. |
