Quote:
Americans show the least camaraderie in Korea than Canadians, Kiwis or Australians. Americans should realize that once they're abroad, they're on the same boat regardless of race, ethnicity, etc. Americans here should stop bickering amongst each other, being separatists and start embracing each other as 'Americans'

Though I agree with you 100%, I feel that many Americans these days are so focuses on being P.C., rather then focusing on embracing each other.

It's an interesting way to look at. So once we move back home, are we free to fall apart along our old lines of division?

I've always said, what would really bring the people of this planet together is a nice, big alien invasion.

I'd rather embrace them as people, personally.

I think you need to look at why should they stick together? I don't know why I should stick closer with Canadians than I should with Americans. Seems strange. I think the main reason English speaking people tend not to stick together, is because they don't need to.

Right. I don't go around sticking up for other Irish people just because I happen to be Irish. I don't think they need me to.

Are you American, OP?

Cuz if you're not, you're going to have to get into the line of people waiting to tell Americans their opinion of how they should act, over to the left. The line is currently 78.5 miles long, and we expect to hear your petition in 12 years and 4 weeks.

The question was not whether one should hang with one group as opposed to another.....

As I said, I agree with the O.P...but many Americans are so "cotton pickin" P.C. that they are afraid, or apathetic.

Personally, I think if America lightened up some, and treated certain issues as David Chapelle would, things would be a little different.

I actually WANT to meet more Americans. All I ever see/meet are Canadians. Don't get me wrong, but one can only take so much of Alberta vs everyone else in Canada. Vancouver (or Hong Couver has some people call it), Newfies, and don't get me started about Winnipeg.

Americans bash other Americans (east coast vs west coast, libs versus conservatives), however, Americans bashing each other doesn't come CLOSE to Canadians making fun of each other.

Thanks, dmbfan. Another shining nugget of wisdom. So, instead of being crazy "PC," we should all move to the complete opposite side of the spectrum and use only racial stereotypes to joke about things and people. I was in college back in the "I'm Rick James, bitch!" days, and believe me, that's not a period I ever want to go back to.

Furthermore, this entire thread is just troll-bait. Any intelligent person knows nationalism in the West is dead and should STAY dead. I consider it a badge of honor that someone, somewhere, thinks Americans are no chummier with their countrymen than they are with anyone else. If you haven't noticed it yet, that's a good thing. Why the hell would an intelligent, educated human being put one group of people higher on their list of "worthy beings" than someone else based purely on the country they were born in?

I have a question........does it hurt? You know, that stick up your arss? But, thank you for proving my point......I knew someone would take the bait.

Somethings are only a big deal if people make them a big deal. I would rather find these kinds of things funny, then insulting. Humor goes a long way, and that is what is good about Dave Chapelle. Racial Stereotypes? Oh boo phucking hooo (whooooo?).

I think Americans should be allowed to make fun of each other....like family memebers.

And get off it with your "nationalism in West must DIEEEEEE". Hey, I don't see you criticising China, Korea, Japan, France, Itlay, Turkey...(just to name a few) for the same issue.

And, that was not the point. The point was, or the question rather, was in regards to Americans sticking together............what is wrong with that?

I am not trying to flame you, but DAM!

How much of The View are you watching?

But, why should they?

You are probably one of the guys that complains about Koreans always sticking together and defending Koreaness, while now you are advocating the same thing here.

So, now you feel the need to make assumptions? Well, based on your response, is it fair for me to assume that all Canucks are little insecure pricks? NO...of course not.

But, nice try in regards to start up something.....

Why should they? Why not?

Well, no...that is not my point at all.

Is it really so hard to just say "yes, you're right." What's next, are you going to ask me if the stick up my ass hurts?
