|
|
I have just wired home some cash to Europe, I have done this before. However, this time the bank stamped my passport and wrote down the amount I wired. I am just here on a tourist visa - so it might be a problem when I leave Korea...
Any suggestions what might occur when I leave? |

What's the problem?
Second of all, no bank is ever going to amend or scribble into my passport, only a gov't entity such as Immigration is allowed to do that.
Last, are you implying that you are an illegal teacher?
Your post leaves out vital info. |

It doesn't sound like a bad thing, it may have even be for a good reason. Usually there is a limit as to how much money a foreigner can take OUT of Korea (one months salary only). But with that note in your passport, you can prove that you brought the money in from abroad, and maybe be able to transfer it out again if need be. That is one possible reason why they might have put that in your passport. A stamp by the bank though? That does sound a bit weird.
This is just a guess. |

| You're allowed to send up to $10,000 without having to show your earnings, and they stamp your passport to make sure you don't go over that limit. |
