I download the HS Show every day (mon to thurs) and watch a lot of the HS TV stuff too. I love it. Great for subway rides, breaks, working out.

Just wondering if anyone else is into it. I often hear people call into the show from South Korea (I'm guessing they have legit accounts with Sirius in order to do so) so I assume there are some superfans around.

I like Howard. However, I do believe he is a no talent hack! Half the guys I went to high school and uni with can do what he does. Not exactly an exclusive skill set being vulgar and horny.

I'm a HS fan since Artie joined the crew, pretty much. The post-Jackie group dynamic makes for better banter, in my opinion. I also download the shows, but not regularly. I particularly like it when George Takei is in; he totally gets the joke.

Still waiting for that Gianni Russo interview to be replayed. That was easily one of the best on the show ever.

As for the vulgarity, I agree that some of his best work came from the 'clean' days, but there are still moments of brilliance. If you write him off as an Andrew Dice Clay, you're missing out.

I agree. To say he's a talentless hack is a ridiculous statement.

I'm not sure just how many people realize how many ideas and concepts have been lifted from Stern's show.

I'm still waiting for Eric the Midget to fly with balloons. The lil' bastard.

Foiled again!

What? Are you joking? A ridiculous statement... Ha, I like Howard as much as the next guy but there are probably thousands, tens of thousands, who could do what he does... Name one thing he does that any juvenile adolescent couldn't think up...

The only interesting interviews I've ever seen or heard have been conducted by Howard. He doesn't ask boringa$$ questions like, "Where exactly do you get your inspiration?"; "What was it like growing up the youngest of seven kids?"; or "How do folks receive you when you visit your home town?" Uh-uh.. he jumps right in there, asking about how many threesomes the dude's had that week, when a girl lost her virginity (and all the details of the experience), if a chick's a size queen.. everyone succumbs to Howard's badassety.

Nobody can do what Howard does. Nobody on terrestrial radio even comes close. Plenty try to imitate, most fail. I think terrestrial radio is dead now. If the Sirius XM merger goes through just imagine the audience he'll have.

Rejuvination!!!

There is no other show I'd listen to for 18 hours a week.

Many fail because Howard has name recognition and contacts at this stage of his career. Howard's show is broadcast to millions and people know what to expect. Like I said, I like Howard, but what he does is not much of a talent or skill. I guess we agree to disagree...

Tens of thousands could do what he does? Oh cool! Where do I sign up?

The idiocy of that statement is made obvious by reality. The fact is that nobody can do what he does, because really, tell me one shock jock out there who even approaches the level off success and longevity Howard has enjoyed. As has been said, there are plenty of immitators, but nobody can pull off what Howard does.

$500 million to sign with Sirius. I don't know too many entertainers who command such an enormous salary.

The thing about Howard Stern is that he takes normal people and freaks and makes them famous. He's the reason for a lot of concepts and ideas you see on all mediums of entertainment. While he may have mellowed out over the years, he's still the best interviewer around. And it's his honesty, and loyalty to his viewers that makes him truly unique. The whole system he's set up with his show is genius and nothing out there comes close.

I also listen everyday. I get my DLs off of Redskunk.
Nothing comes close to Howard Stern
Letterman, Oprah, anyone...they can't deny it; it's the most incredible live production in the history of broadcasting, nothing comes close. FIVE HOURS OF LIVE ENTERTAINMENT ON AIR, RADIO AND TV, FOUR DAYS A WEEK, EVERY WEEK.
Amazing!
His take on Oprah Winfrey's commencement speech at Howard University was one of the funniest thigs I ever heard in my life.
There will never be a better radio show.

I listen because I "kinda, sorta" work for Sirius -- and I've been listening to Stern for about 15 years now -- even when Billy West was on.

The show hasn't been the same since Jackie left -- I know he was an idiot for leaving, but the tension between him and Howard made some great radio.

Of course, there was the occasional Fred vs. Robin, Howard yelling at Gary or Stuttering John, or whoever -- remember Ralph's polygraph? Or even KC's polygraph?

I think Sal and Richard are the best recent additions to the show. They always take it to the next level -- the only way they can top their last stunt is to actually blow each other... who knows if they'll actually do it.

The Ronnie limo drama back in late 2004 was also great... especially the song parodies: "...and it's perfect if you're going to the Source awards..."

I don't listen to Bubba, but he has a hot wife.

Gianni Russo was a great recent interview.

The roasts are usually great -- the Bababooey roast being the best so far -- maybe the Artie or Ronnie roast coming in at 2nd. Sal is always the best roaster because he's not afraid to cross the line... this was evident when he imitated a horse to 'translate' for Beth O.

...and yes, I love George Takei.

BTW, many have tried to imitate him -- none have achieved his level of success... look at Mark & Brian, Rick Dees, T-Man, DeBella, Imus, Opie & Anthony, Bubba, Mancow, etc.

I adore Howard Stern!! Been listening to him since I was twelve or thirteen. Learned all about nasty ass stuff on his show.

I agree- Howard is one of a kind. The show is so extremely entertaining- it is one of the few shows, TV, radio, whatever, that has actually made me laugh out loud for minutes. He really is a genius- and the wrap up show is pretty good too.

I rediscovered him on Sirius a while back and when I heard Robin, Gary, and the gang it was like coming home. I love them.

Hey- what do you guys think of Artie lately? Kind of an a-hole no? Havent listened for the past month or so, but last time i heard he was wearing out his welcome- fast!
