|
|
I am now into my 10th month of a solid contract just outside of Daegu. All has been fair and above board during my time here. Of course, due to the relationship I have with the Director, I am now assisting her in finding my replacement (no fee involved) because it is simply a good opportunity!
So, I thought this to be a simple task of emailing some people who post their resumes online. I truly feel for the recruiters at times the amount of non-responses and crazy questions (cant these people scratch themselves?) is astounding.
Does anyone here have any ideas of other websites or creative ideas I may look to?
PMs are more than welcome |

Why do you consider it a good opportunity to be doing something for free that your employer would otherwise be paying someone else to do? |

I guess you now know why recruiters get paid to do that.

I feel for the (few) good directors who really have to roll the dice every time they need to replace a waygook, but ultimately that's part of the risk involved. I think you may be more helpful by offering to check the references of candidates that recruiters send your boss, something that Koreans seem unable to do. |

Why do you give yourself all the trouble?
Personally, I did find a hagwon a new teacher some years ago, but that was because a friend of mine was looking for a job. I was helping out a friend; I wasn't doing it to save the hagwon the recruiter's fee (although they actually did!).
It's summer time! Your contract is almost finished, why bother? Enjoy your free time or find yourself a new job.
By the way, just like Kim Jong Jordan I wonder what kind of good opportunity you're talking about.
I understand you probably found a good hagwon (got really lucky!), had a good time so far and want to be nice to your director because she has been nice to you. Tell her the facts, it's much more work and much more difficult than you expected and tell her that you bit more than you can chew. If you really want to help, then you can always offer to review the resumes she'll get from recruiters or be there for interviews if she hires someone who's already in Korea. |

Cheers, thanks for the advice.
I showed my Director some recruiter's websites yesterday and she took down the details. The ref checking is a good idea... thanks! |
