I may be interested but my budget would about 200-300k max for a used laptop.
How big is it?
How old is it?
Also how old is the battery and is it possible to get replacements? |

Its about 2 years old, it has a good 14" screen. The battery holds out for about an hour, but getting a new one would not be a problem. No scratches or dents, its in good condition. |

If you haven't already take a look at the Canon EOS 300D.
The Nikon is a nice camera but I reckon the Cannon is just as good if not better.
I was going to get the Nikon but I read some very bad reviews regarding after sales service. Tough company to get in touch with too.

Super Dave:
Pretty strong feelings you have there about cameras mate. Those who say categorically that either Nikon or Cannon are better are a dumb ass? Fortunate for me then that I didn't say categorically that one was better than the other. I just happen to consider that my camera is as good if not better.
The real issue is after sales service. If anything does go wrong I want to know that I can get decent support. Nikon just doesn't cut it as a company. I would have bought the Nikon, I wanted to buy the Nikon, I just couldn't accept the rotten attitude of the company.
I still stand by my suggestion, check out the Cannon if you have already Giant, it's worth a look. And just keep in mind Nikon's lousy service reputation.
Regards,
USANAK |

Not to worry Super Dave. I know the 300D pretty well and know it is as you say, night and day compared to the D200.
Not to say Canon is bad, I know Canon also make good cameras but the "equal" equivelent of the D200 in Nikon would be like the 400D but if you do a side by side:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=canon_eos400d%2Ccanon_eos5d%2Cnikon_d200&show=all
You will see the D200 is better than the 400D but just a little under the 5D, and of course blows away the 300D.
But again it boils down to personal choise as well, its like those that argue about AMD vs Intel, its as good as a cat trying to cover up its doodoo on a tiled floor. It aint gonna happen!!
And USANAK, no worries there, I had my D70 for a long time and had no hassles with it, worked like a workhorse and never complained. The actual reason is that I already invested a sum in lenses, so dont want to swap now. |

hey giant ... i didn't post again cause i don't like threadjacking!
D70 is a good camera. My first dslr was the D50. same as you, i invested in lenses and stayed with nikon.
i've had no service problems or camera problems in 3 years ... so i don't understand why anyone has issues with nikons or after service.
neither canon or nikon are outright superior. canon has some sweet gear and so does nikon.
but the D200 is one of the best dslrs out there ... hard to find a better camera, professional grade gear, at anywhere near the price.
good luck selling your toshiba ... when you get the D200, give me a shout ... we'll head out and put the cameras to good use! |
