Does Korea have the same trade embargo with Cuba that the US does? If not, how easy is it to get Cuban cigars?

Why the hell would any country but the US have an embargo with Cuba? The US shouldn't even have an embargo with them, they just want to save face.

To the last poster calm down and drop the attitude will you. It was a simple question and there was no need for your aggressive response. No, I'm not North American. Peace.

www.puroexpress.com

Great website for Cuban cigars. Shipping is free and the price is really good--they somehow avoid taxes by being set up in a duty free area. I've ordered a few boxes form them and have been very happy with their service.

I wasn't directing any attitude toward you, sir. Maybe I should've put this after my sentence: Laughing

That was, by far, not an aggressive response. Read through a lot of the threads on here, especially before they get deleted, and you'll see aggressive (but usually not from me).

And I never said anything about your nationality, though if I did, a proper response would be "I'm not American" since Canada and Mexico aren't bound to the USA's embargos. Wink

Korean customs didn't slap any extra duty on them when they arrived? I have been thinking of ordering through them and wondered if that would happen.

Fraid the US is just about the only country with an embargo against Cuba.

Most of the rest of the world can enjoy a good, hand rolled Cuban any time they want to part with the money.

They tend to be a bit expensive here because of the demand from guys off the base and their willingness to pay a premium for them (sellers charge what the market will bear).

A related question...

If I were to purchase Cubans here, is it possible to bring them with on a trip to the States? Would they be confiscated in customs?

I would pick them up duty free when your making an excursion out of country. Korea tends to really jack up the prices- the ones at Hannam mart are like 3x the duty free cost. But the answer is yes- I have a box of cuban Montecristos sitting next to me as I type.

For Seoulsucker: you cannot bring them in (legally) to the US.

That sucks, but I thought so. I'm going to Vegas in August, and nothing would be a better gift to my friends. Give us something besides money to burn at the tables.

IF you are a US citizen, it would technically be a crime (trading with the enemy).

If you are NOT a US citizen, then enjoy your smoke. You are allowed up to 50 cigars as your duty free allowance when you enter the states and they do NOT ask about the place of origin.

You are NOT allowed to sell your duty free allowance but if you give them away, well, I have been comp-ed a suite and many and meals in Vegas by sharing a few cubans with the pit boss at my prefered playing location and I am not a high roller by any means.

Sounds like it might be worth the risk to try and bring 'em in. What's the worst that could happen? Execution for treason?
