I need to come up with several questions about England for an advanced middle school class. They have to research and write about England tomorrow so I need to give them questions to prompt their research.
I guess I'm going to give them questions about famous sites, history, famous people, pop culture and I don't know what else.

The problem is that I'm Canadian and have never been to England. If you have good topics or questions I'd really apprectiate it.

Could you please dispel the myth that all Englishmen are gentlemen, and that England is always foggy.

Cheers mate

Oh, and we also hate the furking queen.

England is not always foggy, sometimes it rains.

You could start with "How many times does Hugh Grant say *beep* in Four Weddings and a Funeral".

Some suggestions:

Who is the Queen and what does she do?

What is a Dalek?

Who are some of the best soccer teams in Britain?

What do they eat for breakfast there?

What is a double decker bus and how much is the fare?

How many different ways can you get to France from England?

Name three actors from the film 'Love Actually' and tell us about another film they have been in.

Where is Stonehenge and what is its significance?

To the last poster we don't use soccer we use football. No offence but so do two thirds of the speaking world. And no we won't change to fit in with North Americans.

All Englishmen I know are gentlemen and tolerate the Queen.

I don't care what you change to fit in with whom. I'm from New Zealand and we call it soccer. It was a mistake.

Why England

Not the UK

There is also Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Oh sorry you are an American. You think London is England.

No no no, you don't want to dispel the gentlemen myth! That would rob us all of our preferential treatment!

Well, perhaps it did and has provided the OP with all the material needed.

"When two Englishmen meet and speak for the first time they hate each other. Do you know why?"

Excuse me? Perhaps you should learn how to read your own language before replying. Oh wait, everyone who speaks English and isn't from the UK is automatically American, right?

Why England? Simply because our sister school is in Brighton England. I will cover some things about the British Isles and UK in a class period but it doesn't pertain to the assignment I'm doing.

Spinoza thanks for the great reply. Some stuff I can use now and some stuff later. Thanks.

My friend Leif Dolan in Topeka won $20 for dressing like Tom Baker.
