does anyone have any advice or know any universities that offer graduate degrees in linguistics, english, or education with fully online programmes that are accredited and cost under $15,000? oh, and don't have super stringent requirements to be accepted into the programme.

The Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics online program from the University of New England is worth a look. I'm just wrapping up my first semester and it's been a good experience mostly. Couple of issues with one class but they've been resolved. I'm getting a lot out of it so far.

This is UMASS Boston's online program. I'm a student in it and it is great. Fully accreditted, legit program, I even worked at the university for a while myself, so I know it's good. PM me if you have any Qs.

yeah, i checked it out. it's in australia. it looks like it might be a good school and it's accredited by the australian gov't. that shenandoah university looks kinda sketchy though. the website sucks and it was hard to find the tuition prices and accreditation.

Just because you had trouble finding the tuition and accreditation on their website doesn't mean it is a bad school. IMO, it really isn't that difficult to find if you have 2 minutes to spare.

S.U. has the largest Master in TESOL program in the world. It is also accredited by the same accrediting board that accredits the University of Virginia and Duke University (so you know the program has merit and is respectable).

LOL. Laughing You know what? If it was that 'difficult' for you to find those two pieces of information, then maybe SU isn't the place for you considering you have to be able to navigate through BLACKBOARD for your courses. Since you had trouble with just a few clicks, then maybe a classroom setting is best. Furthermore, to base your opinion on the program on the fact that you didn't like the 'website'..... Shocked ......well, to each his own I guess. Try actually emailing the director and speaking to her regarding the program.

Oh, and for those that find the website 'difficult' to navigate through, here are the 'hard' steps:

tuition - 2 clicks/ 3 pages
http://www.su.edu/sas/tesol/
then
http://www.su.edu/sas/tesol/moreinfo.html
finally
http://www.su.edu/sas/tesol/tuition.html

Accreditation- 1 click
http://www.su.edu/sas/tesol
then
http://www.su.edu/sas/tesol/whoweare.html

man....that WAS difficult. Laughing Rolling Eyes

aren't Australian universities dropping like flies in terms of the international acceptability of the accreditation their online masters programs?

not all of them, mind you, but certainly a fair few.

I for one always judge the academic merits of a school by the quality of its website navigation. Very Happy
