Here in Korea pretty continuously since December 1997. I'll be in the 10 year club then.

The only real break (other than extended travel in SE Asia) will be two 8 month stints in Montreal going to graduate school. Even though I had basically "moved back" my heart was still here... I kind of felt like I was just doing "yu hak" in Canada. (Study abroad)

Came in early 1994. Stayed cause I get good $$, nice apt, extra work at local jun. coll, and fear of changing jobs (due mostly to this board).
Finally getting ready to leave this summer.

Wow, some people have been here that long teaching English. I know of one man who been at it for 9 years straight in Korea. I just wonder how long the English teaching industry is going to boom like it is. I hope for at least 5 more years, becuase it's quite a bit more interesting than beating the pavement in our home countries.

Nine is nothing. I know one guy at my university who has been in Korea since the 1970s. Some of my co-workers have been here for around 10 years.

It makes me wonder whether I will make the 10 year club. I am planning to do an M.A. in Korea Studies here. So I will be here a while longer.
