Too many sickos come very here trying to have sex with little girls including English teachers. Believe me, my neighbor is one of them, I'm for sure.

They're always trying to justify their erroneous behavior by legel sex consent ages and saying "they look older than 16". It doesn't matter if the legel age of consent in Korea is 15 or 16. Does that mean it's right? Would you want a grown man having sex with your 16 year old little girl. I'm sick and tired of hearing about westerners coming over here to have sex with kids. It may even be legal, but one day they will pay.

There is no excuse for an MAN having sex with a 16 year old in ANY situation. It is flat out wrong. I don't care if you own god says "if there's grass on the field, play ball", It's wrong. These kids should be thinking about school not dating or pleasing a grown man.

Most of these sex predators know they couldn't get away with that behavior back in their home so they come here where the sex industry is so in bedded in society that they feel they're not doing anything wrong.

In prisons in America, all prisoners know about the sex predators. Then they get to feel the opposite end of that ordeal.

One last thing, if you can't get a date HERE your own age then you are just sorry and you need to go back home.

Your neighbor is an English teacher?

"come very here to have sex with little girls"

Are you a native English speaker or is that just a typo?

As far as I know most of the sex industry (besides those in Itaewon and the jucy bard around US army bases) exclude non-Koreans.

I've never heard of a foreign teacher having sex with a 16 year old girl. I'm not saying it has never happened, but I would like some examples if you're going to make a statement like that.

The only people I've personally known who have admitted to having sex with ~16 year olds were Korean and Dutch, one a professor. Another person I've heard about was from the Philippines and volunteered at a YA or something like that.

Anyway, from that thread about Sara Spalding or whoever, I found, direct from the Seoul Police, that the age of consent is 19.

What's with the internet being used to sell her services. That means there are Korean webb sites catering to the sex slave industry.

What the hell kind of females would enslave a 16 year old girl like that. Probably got the idea from observing their fathers and mothers.

AsI said before, it's happening everywhere in the world.

800 apples are easy to find... in any place with a population over 1000....

It's not about Korea.

Arkansas and New York USA, , South Gloucestershire England, Ottawa Canada, Carletonville SouthAfrica, Armagh Ireland, Port Fairy Australia, Howick New Zealand. Everywhere you look you'll find that and worse...

Every country has a law on it's books referred to as kidnapping this is illegal in all of the above mentioned countries. This kid was not only forcefully held against her will, physically and emotonally assaulted (sexually assault as well if the trio included tool holders I'm sure) just so a treacherous friend and her buddies could buy new shoes and cellphones. To me that translates to the DSMIV overview of psychopathy.

What's so perverted about this case is the cold callousness perpetuated on the victim in absolute disregard the pursuit of pecuniary gain. Where the jailers visited the uncle in order to get their bread-winner back defied belief. And, where pedophiles once apprehended were more concerned about themselves than the welfare of the child. How old does a child have to look in order to not look like a child. Doctor, educators apprehended as well; unbelievable. Sounds like a pedo ring was rightly nabbed. Yay to law enforcement.

This type of case is considered untypical in any country with human rights and makes international headlines should it occur. This crime was not carried out by a long-time captor or by organized gangsters(cruise the country-side kidnapping girls and spiriting them off to Seoul and other countries) but by ordinary citizens intent on exploiting another for pocket change in order to live the K-dream. So it(the crime) therefore cannot be excused by insinuation just because "other" countries are doing it.

Make no mistake, I think this kind of crime is sick and despicable.

But to blame it on Korean culture is wrong.

I hope that all those involved are fully prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And then some.

Technically a pedophile is primarily attracted to pre-pubescent children.
I think the terms ephebophile or hebephile is more suitable.
Sorry for the aside...

A place where I get the maul bus twice a week always has a van waiting to take the women to work. Yesterday, I was intrigued to see the Madame. Then I was surprised when her daughter, about 14 or 15, came out. She talked to her mom. She approached the van to talk to the women inside. Fortunately she didn't take the van as well. I thought she was going to, but she was just talking to one of the women.
I could read on her face that the mom was a hard woman. about 45,46. She had a firm, cold, non-chalant mouth. For one second I thought she became a little embarrased or not composed but her expression soon returned to, "I don't give a shit."
What makes me sick though is the men who hang around with their tongues hanging out. I could tell that the bus driver was a pervert. He wasn't just curious because he had a sudden twinkling smile on his face, like he was 'thinkin about the good times he was a gonna have.'

I know money is important, but I wouldn't subject my daughter to that lifestyle.
Unfortunately, I probably do. The sex trade is everywhere. It's on every corner. Business is also often arranged out of private vehicles. There are two brokers, pimps, in my little street. The police don't do anything about this. But if a minor is involved, and they weren't, they would.

I agree that other countries have as much or more prostitution than Korea

No way, Bro. Koreas sex trade would eclipse Thailand's. It's harder to detect, but once you do, it opens up like a book.

There is a documented case similar to this that happened some time ago. A girl of middle schoolage was held captive by a relative of sorts, and used to service men the same way. Sad thing about the whole case though was that no charges were brought against any of the men involved, because of the shame it would bring to the country town where it all happened. Case was literally thrown out of court.

Now I bet this case will go the same way. There is too much collective shame involved. The poor victim's plight will be immaterial to the bad publicity that would come from punishing the participants. The violation of the girls rights, will be considered a minor problem in comparison to the shame of all who got their rocks off at her expense.

If you want to do anything, and at least help the poor girl get some justice, you need to find out more details about the case and take it to the papers. Better still see that the outcome gets published overseas, write a book about it and or make a movie about it.

The case was reported in the D----- Ilbo on June 6th. It would be nice to know what has happened in the meantime. Maybe someone could have a Korean friend ring up the writer of the article to see if there is any follow up news.
