hey I'm going through Canconx - and i'll be leaving for Korea sometime in January. They told me that if i take 120 hours (half in class and half online) of TESOL courses i could boost my salary.

Just curious if anyone has done this? I am currently enrolled in-class 60 hour with oxford seminars (starting in July)

Also if anyone who has taken the online courses, what should i be expecting??

If you are going into a public school, it may boost your salary. If you are going into a hagwon, don't expect any extra leverage from a TESOL. Management doesn't care.

I found the value of my cert was in being less stressed in class and having better opportunities later on. Think of it as a long term investment. If you want to do 1 year and out, don't waste your time and money.

I don't know anything about online, but I would recommend a wholely classroom based cert. I found the most productive sessions were the observed teaching classes and in class demonstrations by students.
