If you are going into a public school, it may boost your salary. If you are going into a hagwon, don't expect any extra leverage from a TESOL. Management doesn't care.
I found the value of my cert was in being less stressed in class and having better opportunities later on. Think of it as a long term investment. If you want to do 1 year and out, don't waste your time and money.
I don't know anything about online, but I would recommend a wholely classroom based cert. I found the most productive sessions were the observed teaching classes and in class demonstrations by students. |
