The title says it all. I want to teach corporate English at a company like Samsung. I've been trolling the job sites for three months to no avail. The ads I do see demand "F" Visas for corporate gigs. I've talked to others that say they do not discriminate against "E" Visas, but just ask for "F" holders as they are more likey to be here long-term. I'm sure a few of you have this gig from reading some threads in the past. Info would be appreciated. I have the experience, as I was a corporate trainer of sorts in my previous job back home. What does it take besides experience and searching? My inclination is that these positions are a "who you know" chaebol-style affair.

Marry a korean, get an F-visa and then go bang on a few doors.

They don't like to hire non-F holders because it is a pain in the axx to jump through the hoops to get someone an E7 visa and they can't hire an E2 because they are not licenced schools.

Depending on the job, a good many company jobs are not full time, so it's far easier for them to hire someone with an F visa than an E.

But not always, so you have to keep you eyes open.

You could try contacting the companies directly.

I just got hired by an agent/ broker to teach English at companies like Samsung, and I don't have any teaching experience. I know a family friend who used to work with this same agent and he referred me. Yes, I have an F4 visa. The agent told me that he's always looking for English teachers but that he prefers to work with teachers who have the proper visa (any F visa?).

Nope.

Only F2-1 and F4 are allowed to work.

F1 and F3 are NOT allowed to work without permission from immigration.

They have hired at the KOTESOL International Conference in recent years. Not last year if I recall correctly, but the year before that for sure.

Why do you people forget the F5s?

If you dont have an F2, F4 or F5 you are SOL. Basically its about the paperwork. Large companies wont take on E2s becaue its just too much hassle to do it legally. With an F visa holder theres no paperwork to be done.

Because until recently it wasn't really / readily available to most F2-1 holders and I don't know anyone in recent history who is NOT married to a Korean who managed to get one even though it is theoretically possible.

Personally I think if you are allowed to vote you are a citizen (even if they won't let you have a passport) and not just a resident.

Yes, ADD F5 holders to that list.

I stand humbly corrected.
