I recommend it. It's a bit pricey but I enjoyed it fully. I joined for 3 months with my girlfriend last summer. Definitely better than California fitness around the corner in term of crowds, facilities and friendliness of the staff. The only reason I didn't stay there was because both my girlfriend and I changed work locations and Myeongdong was no longer convenient. As with any gym, the sales pitch was still a bit sleazy, but overall I would give it two thumbs up.

what do you mean by pricey? Calif was 1.3 for 2 years. the nicest places in hongdae are going for 85k on a month to month and around 70 for longer terms. spoland at the world cup stadium is nutso

the staff at calif are downright rude to foriegners and the myeong-dong location is garbage when compared to apu and gangnam

Yeah, the staff (trainers, front desk) indeed gave off an air of arrogance toward me for no reason that I could deduce except that I was a foreigner. Even though I spoke decent Korean, I noticed that all the Koreans around me were treated in a much friendlier manner. No doubt about it.

As far as price at Hurest, it came to something like 110,000 or 120,000 per month for 3 months. More than average, but I don't remember exactly. I wouldn't join any gym for 2 years. They come and go so quickly. I can think of two near Gangnam station that have gone out of business in the last 6 months.
