These places are springing up all over the place. They have soopped up names like "Internet tabang" and the like, Costs you W5,000 an hour. I wandered up to one thinking it was your basic Internet cafe, but went in anyway. I said I will paye W5,000 up front, and would they please shut it off when time was up. Rooms are private and you get headphones and cleenexes. Right!

I surffed through the basic hardcore stuff, and all. Got a lot of Japanese stuff. Seem to be really into it over there. I was pleasantly surprised to see a movie section. I glued myself to it, because you saw a lot of stuff that had been cut from regular movies. Kate winslett all nude, and even Angelina jolie all nude. I watched Tinto Brass's movies as well. First time I had ever seen the uncut versions. Payed an extra W5,000 to watch em. They actually had the movie about the German Spy Story. Took too much time to watch MIranda.

There all over the place, and they are spreading like wildfire. They are the equivalent of your hardcore video shop that you used to could see in Times Square(New York City). We'll never see hardcore video shops here, so Koreans in their own hypocritical way have found another not so obvious way to do the Big U.S city thing without getting right in your face.

In Japan they have similar rooms, but they cost three times as much and you are limited in your choices. In the Korean places you can choose berween some 2000 sex webbsites.

Don't know what the future down side will be from ubiquitus sex pc bangs.

I don't think so. Well, it depends on the kind of porn and what you are doing with it. If its the regular legal stuff and you just have it for personal use, and aren't bootlegging it on the street for a profit then i think the Police will just turn a blind eye.

The ONLY time I have experienced blatant racism was in one of those places (before anyone writes me off as a perv, please hear my story first):

For a while my girlfriend and I had to live miles apart. I was working in Daegu for one year and she was living near Uijeongbu. The normal routine was that I normally would take the KTX train from Dongdaegu to Seoul Station and take the subway all the way to Uijeongbu. But it would cost me 38,000 won for the ticket (each way) and another 1600 for the subway, and another 4,000 for the taxi to her house. And this is each way and this was nearly every damn weekend I had to do thi$$$. Anyways, when I would have a very limited budget the bus terminal was right next to the train station and there were 3 daily buses from Dongdaegu to Uijeongbu bus terminal. The ride would last about 5 hours and sometimes I would take it (22,000 won for a very comfortable first-class style reclining seat.)

Anyways, when it would be almost time to go back to Daegu on a late Sunday afternoon I would buy my ticket at the Uinjeongbu bus terminal and since there were only three daily buses, sometimes I had to wait an hour. There was a PC bang in the station and I would routinely hang out there typing away while waiting for the bus.

I did this every time I waited for the bus back to Uijeongbu. And one day I had to wait, but I noticed that the PC bang was no longer run by the kind young guy who owned it. The windows were painted in with airbrushed ocean landscapes and shining gold 3D letters. I walked in and it was dark with a dim blue light over the entire place. There was a tight faced unkind looking ajumma who I tried to tell her I wanted one hour for Internet. The place changed owners, but I didn't think nothing of it. I put my money on the counter for her to take and make change, but she pushed it right back to me and said something to me in Korean I couldn't understand. I thought it was a translation problem, so I tried calling my g/f on my cell to translate for me. The lady refused and said a few more things to me. My g/f was shocked and told me that "she is not kind at all." I said "Oey?" and the only thing I could understand was "oegugin anida blah blah blah . . . ." Then she told me in Korea to get the hell out "Ka!" I was so livid that I stormed out of there and almost smashed her glass door after slamming it hard.

My g/f later found out that it was no longer a normal PC bang like it once was, but a "seongin" PC bang, which is basically what everyone described: a jack-off-in-front-of-the-computer" kind of place and foreigners were clearly not welcome there. So if you see that seongin PC bang in the Uijeongbu bus terminal, please throw a pavement brick through their windows and I will bless you forever. Those damned pricks.
