|
|
Just wondering, I may be going to Seoul this weekend, however, most of the foreigners I know have other plans for the weekend so I would be on my own. If this is the case, where could I go at night. There are a few places I will go during the day and a few friends I will visit. I just want to know what people would reccommend for evening entertainment for a single guy. |

Itaewon to meet other foreigners.
Hongik University (Hongdae) to meet Koreans and foreigners (I recommend Tinpan and Tinpan 2 to find foreigners).
Sinchon to meet Koreans.
Gangnam to meet foreigners and rich Koreans. |

To get to Tinpan and Tinpan 2: Go to the University entrance and take a right. Walk a few blocks until you get to another main street, and look right down the street. They are both there, one on the left, one on the right.
A really chill bar is Gr8, they have hookah, cocktails and wine, but it's not a place you will meet others as you have a private table. If you walk past the intersection by Tinpan, keep going. Gr8 is across the street from the 7-11.
If you turn right just after the 7-11, there are lots of bars. If you walk all the way to the end of that road past the bars, you will get to Castle Praha and some great microbrew beers. |

Many in Itaewon will speak English, but they may be sleazier on average more than girls in different areas. Or they may just prefer to date Westerners.
In Hongdae, it's hit and miss in the bars and clubs. They may not speak much English, but since it's a uni area, you may have good luck.
You could also try Branson's Crazy Happy International Network party. Seriously, if you need a date, dance or screw, head there. See the ad in the off-topic forum. |

Read the thead, or the old threads, about it.
You show up, pay 15,000, drink like a maniac, meet girls that can or want to speak English, and go home with one that night or later in exchange for speaking English. Wrap it up, btw. |

Yikes, Itaewon or Tinpan? I guess if you really feel the need to get away from Korea. Really it depends on what you like (bars, clubs, classy joints), what music you like, and what you feel comfortable doing by yourself.
In my experience a lot of the girls I meet in Itaewon, in the bars mind you, have been prostitutes and they haven't spoken English any better than most Koreans. But same thing has happened other places in Seoul, such as twice in Cheonho (don't know why I'm a prostitute magnet, guess I look desperate?)
Any bar you go to you might be able to meet girls. There's a bar in Hyehwa where every time I go I get a number or two. But nothing ever follows thru becuz the girls are boring and straightlaced. It depends more on your attitude (and I guess language skills but I have none) then where you go. |

Could you possibly recommend a few bars to meet people. I wouldn't need to ask if I lived in or around Seoul but I have only visited a couple of times. |
