I didn't look at the cleavage thread until after Poktanju locked it, and in my statement above I was referring to Poktanju's explanation of that decision. That's what finally set me off and inspired this thread (although misogyny has been a problem around here for a very long time).
I just couldn't believe the mods were treating Freaka's "offence" as being just as serious as Jinju's conduct - or maybe even more serious? The guy threatens a harassment campaign against her, and she's supposed to keep that to herself out of concern for the poor little harasser's privacy?! I don't see one single thing wrong with what Freaka did, and I feel that she had every right to ask for help from the mods at the same time. It's really astonishing that the mods apparently don't see it that way. Assuming they read through the thread, and saw that the "incitement" by Freaka was a reaction to Jinju's over-the-top sexist attitudes, I can only conclude that the mods agree with Jinju and really think a full-on harassment war was a reasonable response.  |

So there you have it. I broke no rules, I simply said I may do something. She DID break rules.
P.S. none of that is misogynistic. If a man insulted my wife Id go postal on him too. In this case it was a woman who couldnt handle hearing the brutal truth on a thread in the job forum and still feels anger because I shattered her fantasy of making 5 million a month right off the plane. |

8. Members have every right to enjoy a safe and cordial environment for discussion. Actually...I didn't care about Jinju's sexist remarks as much as I had an issue with his personal attacks on me. Yes, his statements about women in the cleavage thread were sexist and insulting, but those were his opinions and even though I disagree with them, he's allowed his opinions.
My problem with Jinju is that he always makes it personal. I've said this before - Jinju is one of those men that resorts to personal attacks when he finds himself on the losing end of an arguement (which is often). He can't argue his point without getting personal. So I retaliated and called his wife a blow-up doll ...which prompted his PM that threatened to make my life a living hell on these message boards. Only people who feel powerless resort to the tactics that Jinju uses. But I think most of us (even newbs like me) can see right through him. He's rather pathetic, if you ask me. |

C'mon Jinju...admit it...your wife is a blow-up doll. No woman in her right mind would put up with you. Does your doll talk to you as well? Does your doll give you a foot massage when you complain to her about how you can't win an argument on Dave's ESL Cafe without resorting to cheap, personal attacks?

I've seen guys get very very upset when their wives are mentioned, and I recognize that it's "off-limits" but I can't say I can really relate. If someone had never met my significant other, their insults would be pretty meaningless and I wouldn't even dignify them with a reply.
Anyway, I don't think anyone has the moral high ground in that dust-up. |

I seriously doubt that Jinju has a wife. Someone should let Jinju know that a blow-up doll with two arms and two legs does not equal a wife.
According to Jinju, I'll be making my living in Korea as a hooker. Somehow I don't think that the mods will care about his remark, so I'm fending for myself. Yet another classy remark from our beloved board misogynist, Jinju. |

If Jinju can insinuate that I'll be making my living as a hooker and get away with it, then calling his wife a blow-up doll is not "off-limits."
Furthermore, there is a higher likelihood that Jinju's wife is a blow-up doll than the likelihood that I'll be making my money as a hooker in Korea. |
