Does anyone have any good classroom ideas for making things for elem. school kids?
I used a template for making a very basic comic strip that worked well. Anyone got any good ideas? Thanks |

Teach them animal body parts, then have them make cool drawings/3D something by pulling body part words, and numbers out of a hat. (3 legs, 4 eyes, etc) |

I'm planning on doing this one soon: have them make letter templates and then make mini posters of each letter to put around the room. But use sandpaper and use the same grit for the same sounds (A, J, K, etc), and by the end you'll have some decorations, but but also things the kids are meant to touch. Jazz it up with color backgrounds etc, anything to jazz up the dull sandpaper color. |

Depending on their age, make a garden on one of the walls. It could turn into a few day activity. One day have them make flowers, another fruits and vegetables, another bugs, and last animals. Or an ocean or jungle would work.
You can make play-doh easily enough with store bought ingredients so have them make models. I did a volcano one time using the play-doh. The kids helped me sculpt and then we painted and the next day we made it explode.
They could make masks and wear them. Or hats. I remember making my own monster after the art teacher read Where The Wild Things Are.
I remember enjoying painting my feelings using primary colors. |
