That's right, my wife and I got on a plane today and left Korea for good. I'm sitting at the Osaka airport waiting to get on my connector back to the USA. I wish everyone still stuck in Korea the best of luck.. Enjoy the summer strikes, the crybaby riots and the spitting ajumas..
I would recommend not keeping your money in Won.. anyone remember 1997? It's coming again.. |

So now that you're not here, I guess there's no reason for the economy to stay strong I sure hope you're not looking to vacation abroad with the "mighty" American dollars you'll be making... |

Best of luck! Make sure not to hit a kid with a car while you're in Texas

Crowd kills man after car hits child
By LIZ AUSTIN PETERSON, Associated Press Writer
AUSTIN, Texas - Police on Wednesday were pleading for witnesses to help them track down members of an angry mob that beat a man to death after the car he was riding in apparently struck and injured a child.
Investigators were struggling to piece together what happened Tuesday when David Rivas Morales died defending the driver from members of a crowd. There could have been anywhere from two to 20 attackers, Austin Police Commander Harold Piatt said. |

Rather live in Korea than Austin, TX? Heavens.
Anyway, can't say I'll miss SAJ. Not one of my favorite posters. Rubbed me up the wrong way entirely on a thread where he said I was "blaming whitey". See the embarrassing debacle here: http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?p=1198295&highlight=#1198295 |

There are no indications for that. Why would you think that?
Take a look at the Yen/Won cross rate though. It is around 750 to 1 or so now. Could be a good time to buy Yen with your won. I bought at 850 last fall for a visa run. With the Yen at 124 , a historic high , if it fall back down around 110 ( it's moving gaverage) you could make som won. |

Then take it. Please!!
Rather live forever in a place where anything foreign is bad (until someway is found to show that Koreans actually had a hand in creating it in the first place)?
Whatever. |

I am not crazy about Korea, but I am not crazy about Texas, either. One reason I can tolerate Korean better is because I don't speak Korean to deal with the cultural issues so much. Many Texans are quite friendly, but I did deal with a lot of intolerance in terms of voicing opinions that were not right wing. But, still, some of the nicest people and some of the most beautiful girls. I made some good friends there, and I just would prefer somewhere like Virginia, Maryland, California, or New York. I know people who love the place, though.... I wouldn't dog them for that.... To each his own... |
