hi, would there be any chance of anyone looking over the contract I posted on page 41 of the contract sticky?
The public school want a decision from me by tomorrow. It is teaching between two public schools in Incheon area. GEC public schools.
I have been in contact with some of the staff and the all seem to be enjoying working there.
I have no experience whatsoever.
Any help on deciding would be really appreciated.
Thanks |

| I'm not a contract buff, but if you are teaching for public schools, the contracts should be standard and respectable. You should be getting 2-4 weeks of paid vaction in addition to national holidays. You should be teaching no more than 22 hours (classes) a week. Anything more is overtime at 20,000 or more an hour. I think the quick decision statement is sketchy, but is still beats a hogwan job. Make sure you find details about your apartment, if you are the first foreign teacher there and if you can talk to the previous or current teacher at your leisure. |

Yeah, they have given me 5 teachers email addresses, and they have been in contact with me.
They all seem happy there. |

| Get all the information you can, and then go with your gut feeling as to which one is best for you. There's going to be both positive and negative aspects of either choice. |

Read the contract carefully ... there were a couple of things that I was not familiar with from the public school contracts I have read including the penalties for being late ... Make sure that you can live with all of the provisions ... there are some things which are not part of a standard public school contract.
