Hello board,

I can't get the Korea Time or Korea Herald in my town so I can't get access to those classified ads on vacation tour package deals. I'm interested in going somewhere in SE Asia with a friend.

I'm thinking about going on one of those package tours, because the locations are great and they always seem like such amazing deals. I wonder where's the best website to check or is it better just to go to a local travel agent if I can't get my hands on one of those newspapers?

Oh and I heard that some of those classified ads package tours were fly by night operations that never produced. I wonder if I should avoid them altogether?

Thanks in advance for any help

haven't done a Korean package tour myself. But personally I wouldn't want to travel with a bunch of ajosshis and ajummas and also be dragged around to different shops like I heard happens.

I heard that too actually. I didn't make the connection that I'd be stuck with a bunch of 5 minute stop frantic vacationing Koreans though. Dammit!

i'm going on a tour next week- the whole package price (399K) was cheaper than a plane ticket (420K+ tax), so what the hell. we're ditching the group as soon as we land.

however, they said we need to ride with them on the way to the airport when we come back, or we'd be charged extra. (they drop us off at a tourist shop on the way to the airport, so they must get some comission.)

we used hanatour.com. the agent was really nice, and spoke decent english.

You must know Korean to use this website, but you can ask a Korean friend or coworker to help you navigate and use this. Rolling Eyes
