Well, seeing as how the majority of the media is liberal (some being far left), it is only natural that they want the rest of us to think the same way.....when someone calls them on their B.S., and have righer ratings then them, they do get upset.....
But hey, there is nothing wrong with having an opion........unless you are not a far left liberal.
Boulder High School controversy (above)
Supporting our troops (above)
The far-left, Angelina Jolie and FOX News (above)
The American left parties in Washington (above)
Surging in Iraq (above)
Journalists giving money to political candidates (above)
If you STILL think that he is unbalanced and part of the far right........well....then......shite.......

I think what he's saying is that if the watchers are split evenly between conservative and liberal in who they want to watch, then (as an example, not accurate in numbers) that liberal half have maybe 5 media outlets to satisfy their bias, while the conservative half has (again, an example, may not be accurate) 1 outlet (FOX/ O' Reilly) to satisfy their bias.
So if the liberal media has to split that 50% five ways, then each gets only 10% while FOX/O'Reilly gets the all of the other half because there aren't any other sources to share the watchers with.
And that means, of course O'Reilly is going to have a larger share, he doesn't have any competition among the conservative media.
I know this isn't accurate in numbers or names, I limited it in order to explain JMO's idea as best as I understood it. |

But, FOXnews is not really conservative........they are in the middle. Which, compared to a far left nut job, comes off as conservative.

Well, people keep skipping the point....so, I'll keep presenting it.
I mean, I don't really care that people don't agree. The majority of the posters on this board are liberals anyway, which I don't have a problem with. Then, some are waaaaaay out there. Which, is fine as well.
I mean, this IS the OFF TOPIC forum, right?
A change of pace would be nice, IMHO.

Isn't political talk supposed to go in the current events forum?
I avoid that forum specifically so I can pretend slobbering sycophants with
bifurcation fetishes don't exist. |

There has been a link on the Drudge Report the past couple of days that news reporters break 9-1 in favor of the left in their political giving. Of course, reporters don't have any personal bias when they report (that was sarcasm for you intellectually challenged among us).
It said:
Whether you sample your news feed from ABC or CBS (or, yes, even NBC and MSNBC), whether you prefer Fox News Channel or National Public Radio, The Wall Street Journal or The New Yorker, some of the journalists feeding you are also feeding cash to politicians, parties or political action committees.
MSNBC.com identified 144 journalists who made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the public records of the Federal Election Commission. Most of the newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 17 gave to Republicans. Two gave to both parties.

Off of msnbc to boot! |

I think lying like this casts a negative light upon you.
The media is biased towards whatever will bring them ratings/money.
While 114 American journalists may give money to the DNC, their main interest is getting rent paid and will run whatever piece their bosses want. I'm afraid none of this has bearing on the messages being put out by the American media.
If it was trying to promote a overly liberal worldview, they would have ignored the millions of scandals Clinton was involved with. And they would have not constantly held up Al Gore to ridicule. Movies like Saving Private Ryan would not be made, and pre-marital sex would not always be met with death in Hollywood films. Hip hop wouldn't be allowed to have any homophobic lyrics, and women in positions of power over men wouldn't be constantly portrayed as nasty b1tches.
Look at the messages the "Liberal Media" is putting out there. The only bias is towards sensationalism. Sensationalism makes money.
Sorry, this remains a neo-con myth. Sort of like how people will take bits a pieces of something and weave a vast conspiracy around it. "The Liberal Media" is up there with "The US government engineered 9/11" as far as crackpot blathering goes.

What? They've been very open about their conservative political leanings.

People like you are why most Europeans think we're retarded. Fox news is very conservative, the truth is that most of the media is middle of the road, with a slight left slant. There are not many real 'liberals' on the television or in the main stream media, certainly not counter parts to people like Limbaugh or the she-devil Ann Coulture.
You also realize that most teachers are liberals too, don't you? That's why you came on here with this crap trying to pick a fight. |

A list of cherry-picked headlines means nothing. A study, however, with scientific method and all that, is something worth looking at. Check out this thread for some non-partisan objectivity:
