Third place in North America is a pretty good result for Canada.

yeah..the US backline has been suspect the whole tourney. never solid or seem to be playing together.

By "whole tourney" I guess you mean today's game.

US 1 Guatemala 0
US 2 Trinidad & Tobago 0
US 4 El Salvador 0
US 2 Panama 1

They must have had awesome goalkeeping to only give up one goal in four games with that "suspect" backline. Rolling Eyes

in fact, we do have some awesome goalkeeping. tim howard has been lights out and keller came up big today in the surprise start.

have u watched all of the Gold Cup? did you watch the Panama game? have you seen Gooch being inconsistent in the back? have you seen the miscommunications? i'm not a huge fan of bornstein either, boca has been ok, hedjuk...well, he scored today. i'd like to see more of simek.

in comparison to the midfield, forwards, and keepers....their backline has been the worse. they looked confused out there at times.

sure, it's one thing to beat up on the CONCACAF, but what i'm looking forward to is seeing how we fare against Argentina and others in the Copa America. the roster was just announced, waiting for it to be released to see if Landon and Beas are making the trip.

sunday's final against Mexico will be interesting. hopefully it will be another dos a cero result.

I only saw the Panama game but I think it's more that they were playing forward because Donovan and our forwards suck.

BTW, the torrent is up: http://torrents.huntparkinsider.com:6969/

i don't think our forwards suck, they just can't finish. Laughing beasley should have scored in today's game, instead...passed (which resulted in Landon whiffing).

once u watch the torrent, let me know what you think of the D.

btw, US could easily be facing Guadeloupe in the finals...they gave Mexico a run for their money.

It was agonizing watching what happened at the end of the game... absolutely gut-wrenching... It was definitely a poor call...

And I LOVED that Donovan whiff...

Bradley should be fired. No way Klinsmann has junior in there to pick up that bullshit red. Even the canuck commentators said that was a yellow. And why is he putting Twellman in at 87 minutes? Total incompetence. I thought the defense looked fine (another goal!) although I'm not a big fan of Gooch. He looks like a football player forced to play soccer against his will. Like he's just out there for exercise but has zero passion for the game or interest in the outcome. I wish we could trade Donovan for Hume. Best player on the pitch IMHO. Why the hell isn't he starting? If Canada doesn't want him can we get him a green card or what? Interesting game between two teams with very different styles. The US is like an untalented South American style finesse team while Canada is even more untalented and as physical as any European team. Two or three dirty cheapshots on Keller, etc. Also, it has to be said that this was THE game for Canada while the US was looking forward to the final with Mexico. Absolute bullshit calls both ways. The nonsense at the end was well after what should have been the final whistle.

Here's the last few minutes of the USA-CAN game.

Where's Tim Howard playing club-wise? I remember how promising he was for Man U, but that must have been YEARS ago...

I alse heard from a pretty reputable source that if we bombard the FIFA website with 40 million hate emails they will replay the game. All is not lost!

The Copa America has started.

Ecuador is currently beating Chile.

Brazil vs. Mexico is later tonight.

and tommorow the US's young squad will most likely get mauled by Argentina's A-team. should be interesting.
