Has anybody done this? I've heard it's pretty popular and you can go for around 50k. Anyone know a company that I can contact about this?

There was a thread by someone who went on a trip with the guys linked below, and had a terrible time because the tour guide and someone else got in a scrap. However, that's the only complaint I have heard of...

There was no 'scrap'. The tour guide beat up his g/f when he was drunk. He has since apologized for it.

I have gone on many trips with Ak, and one of them was a white water rafting trip. It was great, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it.

Hey,

Ive been rafting 3 times now with the same company and enjoyed itbut not because of the rapids.

Anything that would be mildly interesting to tackle is deemed unsafe and therefore off-limits.

I think we may have seen mildly churned up water our second time. The other two times required a heck of a lot of paddling on our part.

But we also went during the off-season 2/3 times.

We went through a company we found on the official Korean tourism website. (http://english.tour2korea.com/index.asp)

The website and phone number to contact them through is here. I would get a Korean to call and make the reservation for you. (http://www.raftingkorea.co.kr/new_home/sample3/index2.php )

If you would like more details (where to take the bus to, about staying the night highly recommended - meals, etc) then pm me and I would be happy to help. The people with this company are wonderful and very friendly.

(They also have ATVing and paintball for those interested)

Hope this helps Very Happy

I've been twice. the only reason I went the second time was I thought I got a bum tour company the first time. Nope. they all suck. I'll never go rafting again in Korea.

- there is no "white water" in Korean white water rafting
- there is more time spent floating down the river than paddling
- even when you paddle, it's not for more than 30 seconds before it's time to "rest" again and float some more.

A complete waste of my time.
