Search function broken?
Nope... simple search... bundang and general forum (so as not to overload the search function) 19 pages....
on the first 3 pages (going back about 3 months) I found out about hospitals, bars, places to live, restaurants, buses to anywhere / everywhere, social groups, shpooing, the breakfast club, foreigners meetings, things to do, places to go, schools by the truckload, texas holdum, churches, bikes, motor bikes, eye glasses ...
that took all of about 5 minutes.....
Did I miss something?

| i live in bundang its allright, if you live close to a subway station you should be good to go. |

How far is Bundang from say, Gangnam in Seoul? How long would it take you by subway? Thanks! |

Most of them have seat buses (city bus that travels on the expressway) that cost about $1.60 and get you into your favorite Seoul spot in less than an hour.
I live in Bundang (Seohyun dong) and the bus stop is outside my door.
Times are subject to traffic - longer if you travel at rush hour)
20 minutes to Itaewon
25 minutes to Jamsil
25 minutes to Gangnam
30 minutes to Myeongdong / Jongno / Insadong
40 minutes (bus/subway) to Hongdae
60 minutes to the airport (airport limo bus).
Lots of the bedroom cities are on the subway system as well but the subway actually takes longer than a seat bus to get to most places.

| I live close to bojeong station and they have a bus that goes to yangjae and gangnam that takes like an hour, but if you live near the other end of the bundang line you can get there in 20-30 minutes by subway. but if you like to drink beer(which i very much do) you can go to seohyun station and there is a german brewery there that makes fresh pizza in an italian style oven and brews there own booze. and the only place i lived besides bundang is daegue which i actually liked a lot better but couldint make as much money. if you get here pm me and we can go drink a few cold ones. |

| If you're thinking of working / living in Bundang, try and live between Seohyun, Sunae, Jeongja, and Migeum Stations. Probably the best parts in terms of shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Nice park near Seohyun and the Tancheon stream runs through the area and north all the way into Seoul. Lived in Seoul for 2 years as well as 2 years now in Bundang. Nice place and not moving back to Seoul anytime soon. |

Remember, if you live in Bundang, you really live in Seongnam. Try Moran on a Saturday night if you want to see......ready.......THE REAL KOREA!!!
Suburbs like Bundang are described as the beverly hills of Seoul!! It's a high-rise suburban wasteland. A few attractions. Central park and Yul-dong park. |

As of this very minute, I will be staying with my cousin in Gangnam when I arrive in Korea. But someone else mentioned Bundang to me recently and said it was a nice place to live...so in case I decide to strike out on my own and find an apartment, I was wondering about Bundang being an option. I'll be working in Seoul so the commute would be a concern.

(Well, the "Rain...bibimbap" thing is part of the OP's signature line ...)
"Freaka" has posted that she's a Korean-American, which may also factor into where would be the best location for living and working in Korea.
Jobwise, I'm not sure how much things have changed, but a couple years ago it was very hard for Korean-Americans to get comparable salaries to "white" Americans or Canadians - especially in hogwans located out in the sticks.
I don't think that applies to employment at public schools...
Bundang is within the greater Seoul area, and it's well connected by mass transit, which are pluses. It seems like a nice enough area to me (especially since several vegetarian restaurants are located around there...)

Really? I didn't know this. Someone just told me that Bundang would be a nice place to live. How is the housing there? Pricey? |
