Hi everyone.

My girlfriend and I have just accepted a position with MoonKkang. The location we were placed at was in Siji, Daegu.

I know the good and bad about Daegu, as there is lots of information here about the city, but i wasn't able to find anything in particular about Siji.

Anyone with information about Siji please share. Whats life like in Siji? Is it close to the downtown core? Is there any good foreigner hangouts? Any good restaurants? etc........

anything about Siji would be appreciated.

Thanks again people.

Shiji is fine, and now it's on the subway, so it's more than fine. Also, Moonkkang is a pretty good place to work, as hagwons go, or it was when my friend was there many years ago. A lot of hours, but great pay and support for teachers.

It's basically a suburb of Daegu. It is on the other side of a green belt / agricultural land. The streets are wider, newer, and there's a load of apartment developments.
Not much happening out there, but it's a nice place to live. It takes about 20 minutes to get downtown on the subway.

As for restaurants, there are some pizza chains, an Outback Steakhouse, and i'm forgetting the other main joint.

Thanks. I think the hours have changed a bit since then. My work hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 4:30 to 10:20 and Wednesday from 4:30 to 8:50

less than 30 per week.

I used to live in Gyeongsan and I wished it were Siji. It is an outer suburb of Daegu, sure, but is is on the subway line and it has all the stuff you need. The "famous" dinosaur footprints are pretty lame though. I've also heard good things from friends and friends of friends who have worked at Moonkkang there.
