Contractually it is the same. 14-19 WORKING days per year + 2 additional calendar weeks if you renew. (the extra 5 working days are for rural designated schools). I work at one (even though I live in Seohyun-dong) and make the 30 minute commute to work each day. Schools with a rural designation also pay an extra 100k per month on top of the regular salary.

So I guess I am saying that GEPIK contracts officially give 3-5 calendar weeks per year of paid vacation.

Unofficially... some schools (depending on the admin staff) will give between 6-10 weeks per year because they don't want you moping around the school during school breaks and they don't have a "camp" program.

Last year I had about 10 weeks.

.

Just like elem and middle it varies from school-to-school. I know in my town the high school teacher teaches his lessons alone and can use whatever materials he wants to use.

It depends on the school. It always depends on the school. You should contact schools directly and ask them about it. In my town, the high school teacher is usually expected to stay at the school during most of the "vacation" time, but it's not strictly enforced.

I know some elmentary teachers get more vacation time the second and third years.
To get maximum holiday time, when you have just started may be unfair to the existing teachers.

I am probably gonna do 4 weeks of camps, but I know of a longer serving teacher at another school who is not being asked to work more than 2 weeks: This is because he has anout 3 years under his belt.
