| I'm going to be staying there for a week and could use some ideas. I will be traveling with a partner and we want to try a bit of everything including clubs, bars, zen gardens, good sushi restaurants, etc. We bought Kansai passes which means we'll be staying in and around Osaka. We probably will not be visiting Tokyo this time around. Oh, and we also want to do some shopping as well! Any help will be appreciated! |

Not much in Osaka culturally. Lots of shopping, clubs, and good restaurants however. It'll be easy enough to find.
Osaka Castle is worth the visit.
Take 3 or 4 days to explore Kyoto for the cultural stuff. |

| Kyoto is really close and a great city to be a tourist in. We spent 5 days there and still didn't get to see everything. Forget Osaka and head to Kyoto. Its less than an hour away from Osaka if you must stay in Osaka. |

| Don't just "forget" Osaka. Cuz it's modern Japan and is wicked for partying in. |

I was in osaka last week.
there is a human rights museum that tells of the comfort women and all the other people the japanese harmed during war times. Very interesting.
Access: An 8-min. walk from Ashiharabashi Stn. on the JR Osaka Loop Line.
Also shinsibashi is the downtown area. It has a few interesting non japanese restaurants like indian, nepalese, thai, mexican etc. Cheap and not too bad. I found most of them out of exit 6
You must go to a kareoke room.expensive but well worth it for the selection. I dream of a selection like that in korea.
Dom dom market is where you will find your electronics. Great if you are a gamer as they have a ton of used video games. Note prices don't vary much from korea on electronics except for digital cameras.
hope this helps...honestly i would go to kyoto for a few days |
