Ann Arbor Michigan

Gainesville, Fl (yeah I know college towns, they still dont deserve it)

I'll thow in Miami also nobody supportsthe teams there, when I was living in Miami and the Dolphins made the playoffs they couldnt even sell out the place and the game was blacked out. thats pathetic

Same goes with LA. Heck they cant even get enough people interested to have an NFL team

The worst thing about Miami is that anytime the Jets, Mets, or Knicks play in Miami, fans of the home team are outnumbered 3 to 1 at the game. That's just wrong.

Considering it's so small, and that we only have one professional sports team, on the outside it looks like Portland shouldn't ever win a championship.

But then I just read a remembrance of the 1977 championships and it said that 250k people came out to downtown for the celebration. Which is AMAZING because in 1977 that was probably half the population of Portland.

I'm really excited about #1 pick.

I knew I missed one!

Yes, add Phoenix to the list... although, if Wayne keeps coaching, it's be kinda cool to see him win the Cup

Pittsburgh fits the definition of a football town, so they deserve whatever success they get. (Their baseball team is a different story)

As for cities that don't deserve championships: LA, Phoenix, Tampa, and Orlando, to name a few. This thread is almost like "cities who don't deserve professional sports teams to begin with."

My good buddy is a Phillies fan...he says they are 17 losses away from the first professional sports team in the world to lose 10,000 games. You read that right, 10,000!!!
So i am saying give one to the Phillies...defeats the purpose of this link, but damn, something has to end soon for those losers!

I vote for the whole state of Minnesota. I mean...the place isn't cool enough to name their teams after an actual city!
The Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Vikings
oh...and the Minnesota Wild

'nough said.

I just hate their teams. I've never been to the land of a 1,000 lakes and 10,000 mosquitos

Hey now!!!

Those are my teams! You can't hate them just because they are named after the whole state. It's just that St. Paul is like a whiny younger brother always wanting to be included. "C'mon, Minneapolis, pleeeeeease don't name your team the Minneapolis Vikings. We're here too, you know. Please."

(Reverse the above description for the Wild, who play in St. Paul.)

And it's the Land of 10,000 Lakes and 1,000,000 mosquitos. Very Happy
