Hi there- truth is I am helping do a sort of "learn English" web page... you may all find it too boring but anyway... I guess i could link it if you want.. the picture above is something I wrote a little paragraph about - however I am not sure what the sign says- is the march about car safety or violence or????
Please translate the sign... thanks!
Oh, and this is on Jeju Island. And to speak in a general way of Korea- I would recommend Jeju for married couples who want to swim and hike and do not require a lot of English speakers- since I would guess there are only around 300-600 on Jeju.
(However, I have my doubts as to the safety of Jeju since I left it in 2006- and sans my Steel Gauntleted rule by the might of my English Sword I wager it's fallen into anarchy and Phallic Idol worship anon. Be that as it may, perhaps there is another Frank out there who can land on it in fearsome glory and subject his subjects to answer to his pointed foreign reasoning by the might of his ink pen marker. I myself left it in good order, other than the hundreds of carcasses of pigs that I had slain to feed my lust for leaf wrapped savories.)

There isnt enough info about Jeju on Daves, lots of comments from people who went there on holiday once and think that they are experts though. The full picture really wasnt painted for me.. and I was lurking on daves months before i came here. Ive been toying with the Idea of making a definitive Jeju thread, maybe get some accounts of experiences in Jeju from other locations... Its just such a different experience from the mainland there needs to be more info. Anyway i'll be leaving in August, lots of people say that i'll come straight back after a year. Just Canadians living the dream though |

Jeju is da bomb you can drink the water and swim in the creeks when it rains a ton- I did. Try that in the Main Land! Also, I think Jeju has a double the movie star factor of being the walking James Bond than the rest of Korea! I am handsome guy! (That's waht everyone told me!) If you feel the need for free food and are not afraid to be asked silly questions by kids the Sin-Jeju Mickey-Ds is almost a sure thing... Ok I only got free food about once but I am not such a great beggar. Big problem with Jeju is that there were so few expats- had a problem with some expat you thought was vulgar? Get invited by another cool one to the beach party later - guess who is there? But, most expats were nice ahhh mostly. Not to bash the ole Jeju crowd. How did it go with your serfs there? Were you able to twist their words by your force of your English tongue? Were you most cruelly poked by some little Jeju whelps? Or did you take the huge sum of 2.1 k and work at a university -that was about the pay there... |
