Does anyone know of any medication that you would crush up and sniff inhale nasally? I don't or have never done any drugs before so I wouldn't know this stuff, but is that something that people actually do with medication? I have a feeling he is doing drugs, but I don't know so just asking around what people think.

He did have a little plastic medicine container with white pills or something in it that he crushed up. The container looked real and probably was but anything can be put into it. I am just concerned with this being around my students if it is not legal.

What do you guys think?

There are some drugs used as expectorants, usually for Asthma. They are usually inhaled.

It sounds like he's crushing and snorting ritalin, giving a high akin to cocaine. Even with a prescription, it's considered abuse.

If a drug was meant to be snorted, then the pharmacist/doctor wouldn't prescribe something in pill form...

I have a hard time believing not only is someone doing drugs in front of you but also in the classroom.

If it is true, why don't you just ask them about it?

you can crush up oxycodone or other codeine pills and sniff them to get off, very addictive though.

Well it wasn't in the classroom, it was in the teachers room. All the teachers had their back to him and I looked back and he was standing with a paper that had the crushed medicine on and he snorted it like it was a line of cocaine. After I kind of did a double take he saw me looking and I didn't say anything and he was like, oh its *blah blah* medicine and the doctor prescribed it.

Like I don't care if the guy does drugs, to each his own. I know LOTS of teachers over here do drugs and stuff as well. I for one don't and I just feel that if he was doing drugs then I would want to report him because he was doing it at the school which is not the place to be doing that kind of stuff because of all the kids here and as a teacher I like to educate them that doing drugs is not good.

Good God, please don't. There's a lot of APAP, a majority even, in those pills and you don't want to be putting that into your stomach. You're just asking for trouble, short term and in the long run.

There ARE some drugs that are taken up the nose. However, the ones that I have seen have a special applicator.

When you crush up pills and snort up, the drugs go directly into your blood stream via lungs. Take for instance the drug Ritalin. We have all heard/read about.

When you ingest drugs through the mouth, the drug has to be digested so the effects of the drugs are slow and last for hours. Snorting (taken nasally) increases the effects of the drugs but drastically shortens the time of effectiveness.

The most direct/potent way to take a drug is intravenously (a shot).

Was the guy actually sitting there and breaking the pills up and "cutting" it with a razor blade or driver's license or credit card?

Did the guy bust out a $100 bill and take one straight to the dome?

Did he say "Aww yeah, thats some good stuff" after he snorted the drugs?

Just to let you know, there are some drugs that are meant to be taken up the nose. Also, if the guy was REALLY abusing the drugs, I doubt he would've busted it out in the middle of so many people. He would've probably gone to a bathroom or someplace secluded and taken a few key bumps.

Just ignore it. If he's still doing it a month from now, and it is seriously affecting the work place then you should say something.

Obviously (regardless of whether the drug was doctor-prescribed or not)...

the teacher was obviously seeking attention - to be sniffing drugs in a teachers room (I presume before or after lunch)....

I have seen many crazy-psycho foreigner teachers here in Korea - if this teacher is deliberately crushing up medicine - whether doctor-prescribed-legal or illegal - and sniffing it in a teachers room - where he probably guessed someone would see him/her....

then the teacher needs help... (he/she wants attention) - so give it to him or her - report him/her.....

you will save a lot of our (foreign teachers reputations) - by getting rid of one more psycho teacher.......

Well the guy is definitely an attention seeker. He tries to compete for attention and popularity with both of us other foreign teachers.

He is a real *beep* to be honest and very cocky because he supposively went to "princeton." He is also the biggest ass kisser and doesn't hesitate for a minute to try to make the other teachers look bad if he thinks it would make him look better towards the principal.

He also doesn't have any respect for any of the other teachers and eats their food and takes their things and then when told not to touch it or eat their food he just says he will do what he wants.

He is also the only teacher outside of the principal that ALWAYS wears a suit when everyone else dresses casual. Even on the BBQ days when NO one else is wearing any business like attire he is fully suited up. This might be because he is also claiming that he is going to try to be a future President of the USA hahaha. Let's just say he is very political so it wouldn't surprise me one bit haha. I know what he wears has nothing to do with it, but I just thought I would describe how the guys is so that people can maybe have a clear picture about what is going on and how it might affect this situation.

So because of how he is, I actually think he wouldn't care if someone saw him doing it and thinks that people are just dumb enough to believe whatever response he would give them.

I think I am just going to confront the guy tomorrow and ask him specific information and check up on it and if it doesn't check out then report his ass, because I just worry for the safety of my kids because of his care free attitude towards other coworkers, it might follow through towards his students as well.
