What do you mean Itaewon is not Korea? It's definitely more Korea than Dokdo. I'd venture to say your statement would be on the same grounds as saying that Chu Seung Hui is not Korean, but Heinz Ward and Michelle Wie are.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Its impossible to properly relax socially with most Koreans.
Everything is a competition. Everything can be taken the wrong way. They have to be the centre of attention. gets way too trying after a while.Oh yes..think twice before you go on holiday with one.

The only upside to Koreans being such uptight xenophobes, is that its so easy to take the pi$$ out of them.

Yeah, and then they can get right pushy and violate your space thinking you have to follow and/or getting right manipulative of what you should be doing or saying. And then pounce on the opportunity of pointing out what you're doing wrong to boost their self esteem. Especially when they're drunk, but not necessarily.

It seems you don't really know the Korean society and phyche. Koreans are not like Chinese or Americans that have strong patriotism.

Ha, then explain why the average Korean only watches the World Cup until the Korean National Team loses. Even Americans in Korea watch the semifinals and finals and Americans are not the biggest soccer fans. Most of my Korean friends were no longer interested in the World Cup after Korea was eliminated.

The OP does have a point. Itaewon does have a reputation (rightly or wrongly) for being a scuzhole and for being the place with the highest concentration of foreigners. Are the two related? If so doesn't say much for foreigners in Korea. If not, doesn't say much that so many foreigners choose to live there

What the hell. I'm going to treat this guy like he's not a troll.

HAHAHAHA. See, now we know you're drinking the Kool Aid.

Post this study, and if its by a serious researcher and in a foreign journal, we may be able to have a discussion about it.

Yes, all foreiners hang out in Itaewon. Just like all Koreans in L.A., New York, Vancouver, and Toronto only hang out in Koreatown. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

What a tool
