Probably another textbook post that won't be answered....

Has anyone ever used the SLE (speaking, listening, expression) series of textbooks by Pagoda?

If so what did you think?

I'm looking for books to teach basic, intermediate, and advanced conversation classes (college students).

Ideas?

bump

I would like to know this, and also how to know which levels to order. I'm at a website that offers from level 2A to 3B but as it only shows sample pages from 3B, I'm kind of at a loss as to how to determine which level to use for my weaker students.

Order 1A you can simplify it for weak students and make it more difficult for higher level students.

The topics include: Talking about preferences, Telling time, weather, using the present progressive tense, count and noncount nouns, using future tense, past tense, expressing ability and inability.

I love these books. I asked this question ages ago, and then went ahead and used them.

I also love this series of books and use them often with my adult conversation students of all levels. The eaisest way to choose which book you need is to go into any major book store and look through them. Three things I like are

1. The books are in nine levels: 1A, !B, 1C, 2A, ... , ...3C.
2. They're cheap (<10,000) and widely available in Korea.
3. The content is great and written by native speakers. You won't find L2 mistakes on every page like you see in lots of books written in Korea.

I have and often use from 2A though 3C, but I will be using 1C with a class that recently started.
