|
|
Inspired by Yu_bum_suk's thread on Monster phonics...
What kinds of activities are good to do with high school kids the week after exams? I was considering some movies but don't know if they could pay attention that long unless I had the Korean subtitles up. Also my classes are 50 minutes, so would tv shows be better?
I know the kids won't want to do any *real* work, and honestly, neither will I!
But it is hard for me to stretch ANY activity out over a whole class and I don't want to play games all period--I would be exhausted by the end of the day.
Any suggestions? |

I will be teaching the 7th chapter.
Not sure why but they need to do it.
You could always download Shaun the Sheep that I mentioed before and make a lesson around that.
6 minute animation. |

There's a great 12-minute short called "The Madagascar Penguins - A Christmas Caper." They can watch it once without subtitles and do some kind of task like answer questions, etc.
You would then have time left over to show it one more time with subtitles. |

I plan to do a music listening activity, fill in the blank and comprehension style questions. We'll also spend time going over vocabulary that is both in the music and words that they can use to answer the questions.
After that I may show a Mr. Bean video that focuses on sequence adverbs, and then have the kids try to write directions on how to make their favorite food. |
