|
|
So, like many people, I am getting off the week-ish from July 28~August 5. I am almost certainly heading out to Boracay, and wondering if anyone else had similar plans. My friend has had to back out, and while I am completely used to going on vacations/traveling alone, I thought it might be cool to see who was planning on being in that area around the same time.
Even if you're not going, any ideas of what places are good for going solo to meet like-minded people? I was planning on booking at Casa Camilla, but wondering just how social of a place it is. Since I do about 95% of my traveling alone, I tend to rely on staying at a more social hostel or whatever so that I can meet people to chill with, etc.
Any thoughts/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I am basically looking forward to getting to the beach as soon as I can and spending the week being a bum and probably drinking... and let's be honest, by probably, I mean definitely. |

There are LOTS of places on the beach to meet others. Amost everything is literally "on the beach" so you simply walk along the beach path until you find a place that is hopping and drop in. The bars and clubs don't have walls so it is easy to see into them.
I like the happy hour at nigi-nigi (5-9pm) but there are lots of other places. No worry mate. |

Thanks I gathered as much from the other topics, which is why I decided to go to Boracay instead of my original plan of Palawan, once my friend could no longer go. (btw: props to you for all of the information you have provided on those)
Still, if anyone else will be there, please do feel free to hit me up~ |

Hi there,
Was curious... did you find a good deal on airfare? We were checking into the Phillipines but didn't find out when our summer break at our hogwan was until a few days ago... which happens to be the 28th through Aug 5th (guess that is standard vacation time in Korea?)... but airfare seems pretty steep now.... |

ehhh... not really. I reserved my tickets a few weeks ago, and the best that I could find/only flights I could get were for about 760.000 won (incl. taxes) I'm not sure if that's normal, but I'm desperate enough to get out of here and onto a beach, that I would probably pay more as well.
I went through Xanadu- the others couldn't even get me a ticket at the time. I'm not positive how it works, but you could perhaps luck out by trying again after this week- personally, I have to pay by tomorrow in order not to lose my reservation, and maybe people will decide not to go so that spaces will open up, etc. |
