In the US, I have to take an antihistamine everyday for allergies. At night the antihistamine I take is Benadryl. It makes me so sleepy that I can't take it in the daytime.

Don't they have a non-drowsy Benadryl formula? I used to take it in high school for my hives.

Not in the US. In the US, Benadryl is diphenhydramine, but in other countries it might be other drugs.

Actually I'm trying to sleep so I can stop drinking. I don't feel like drinking in the day but at night I feel like drinking so if I pop a few pills before it gets to late then I won't drink too much. What's in your avatar?

Stop bumping this thread unneccesarily. I want to start a new one about clicking banner ads when you're drunk. It's pretty funny (but not half as funny as having a real life I'll bet).

as swetepete said probably the worst thing which will happen if you take sleeping tablets to regularly is that you wont be able to sleep without them.

I remember in my first year of university i had a sleeping table 'addiction' when i stopped taking them (or using something else) i didnt sleep for 3 days, when i did finally get to sleep I had the craziest dream which was completely without form, the only thing it consisted of were lots of triangles, mostly green and red and an intense feeling of paranoia and dread. thats the best way i can explain it. strangee

Sounds like you're just replacing one with the other. That's a bad idea.

Before you go Tyler Durden on everyone, have you considered some other alternatives besides alcohol and drugs? How often do you exercise?

Cardio for an hour, followed by an hour of weightlifting, followed by a protein-heavy meal (steak and a small salad) put me OUT for the night. I wake up feeling great, and I'm in great shape.

Don't get me wrong...I'm all for booze and pills. I just don't rely on them for the activity most vital to health and well being.

I had a friend who was a clown. When he died, all his friends went to the funeral in one car. (Steve Wright)

Has anyone tried "Melatonin" (I think its called).

A friend gave me some and it was sooo good. Slept like a log and woke up so refreshed.

Unfortunately my wife thought they were some kind of drugs and flushed em down the toilet!
