Does your wife ever try to pimp you out to her friends for English conversations?
How do you deal with that?
I work 12, sometimes 14 hours a day at an R&D center and I value my time and my weekends...lately, (on weekends) my K-wife of 8.5 years has asked me to come along with her to hang out and have coffee with her girlfriends, to which I've flat out refused. She pouts, I feel guilty, but I still don't go. She brings me home a cool present from the Ralph Lauren store (wallet, dress shirt..etc) and I then I really feel guilty.
Am I being pimped out? What would you do?

Never to her friends, but seems like a weekly occurence that she has a new private for me. She must not like having me around the house.
And her aunts love to pimp me out to their children... bloody hell. |

I was the neighborhood beitch to all manner of snot-nosed, pimple-faced teen or toddler.
She hasn't done that in a long while though, thank Gawd! |

mmmmm............Is this a frequent thing? Do you feel like you're being used as an English practice punch-bag when you do go to these things?
Maybe wifey just wants you to socialise more......
Actually, my wife tends to keep her friends to herself because she likes to have her 'Korean time'. I'm more than happy to go along with that! None of her friends drink!!! They're all 30-something 'well-being' ajumma's. So, not much in it for me then. |

No, no...it just started two weeks ago. She just acted like it was a friendly get together type thing...but I was suspicious and paranoid...so I refused. She usually never asks me to join her, maybe that's why I thought it was so out of character for her.
It's probably nothing...
As for socializing, heck I go out to dinner with my team three nights a week and have fish, beef and pork bbq's and 2nd, 3rd rounds at the bars - so I get plenty of that. |

when i feel like i am being used for my english skillz -- i mean when it's blatant and irritating - i just switch to korean.
then the other people can be on the receiving end of feeling used.
moreso this is for strangers, though -- not close friends. |

Perhaps, at least once, you should let down your guard and go with her. She may have just thought that since she never invites you along, you should come. Or perhaps her friends asked why she never invites you along. Regardless, the only way you'll find out if that is the motive, is if you go at least once. If she just genuinely wants you to hang out, that's cool. If you feel like you're being pimped out, afterwards you can tell her how you feel, and that you don't appreciate being asked to do such things in your spare time.

My wife resents it if people ask her.
She wouldn't bother me with it. |

She never did that...but some of her friends to speak to me in English. That does not really bug me.
I also teach my nieces English once a week and I quite enjoy that.
But, my wife never does "pimp" me out.... |

It would be hard for my wife to pimp me out, since we live in two different coutries.
When I'm with her and we go out with her friends. If they talk English with me, I will me more than happy to talk to them. |

My wife is kind of the opposite. She gets angry when people try to use me to get free English lessons.
She also hates it when people shout 'hello' to me on the street. At first she said I was overreacting, but now she agrees with me. |

Girls my wife runs into keep on expecting us to set them up with another whitey. Then hilarity ensues... |
