I'm talking with a recruiter from Easy Foreign Language Institute. Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with them in the past and what their experience was like?
Also, any thoughts on living/working in Suwon would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Don't know anyone about that Hogwan.
Suwon is the capital city of the province of Gyouggi do. It has many old palaces and intesting historical places to visit. Its a stone throw from Youngin which has a folk village and a amusement park. Suwon is on the Seoul city subway line. Suwon is famous for its Kalbi.
Suwon is also home to the Gyouggi-do Kyo-yuk-cheong. The Provincial Office of education for all of Kyouggi-do province. |

If you're going to be outside of Seoul, Suwon is arguably the best place to be. It's got around a million people and a few different places to go out at night. |

don't know where you are now - but find out in detail how far the hakwon is from the train station - any time you want to go to seoul (and suwon is after all just a suburb) you'll need to use the train -
suwon is somewhat spread out - i interviewed there once for a uni spot that was a good bumpy hour long ride on a bus to the train station -!! no way jose.
if you like country and don't care then go for it but if you think you'll be wanting a quick jaunt into the city - think again.
fyi, once you are on the train it'll take another hour at least to get to downtown seoul

They have a baseball team--the Hyundai Unicorns.
Don't go near the station after dark...you're bound to run into some (ahem) women of the night. |

You can use buses to get to and from Seoul. From Suwon station it takes a while, but I think faster than train. If you are in northern Suwon, "jang an gu" or near "Hanil Town" and the Home Plus, it's only a half hour bus to Yangjae/Gangnam (bus 3000) or Sadang (bus 7770) -- 1800 won a ride. The Home Plus is pretty good. |

There are LOTS of direct buses that go from different areas of Suwon to almost anywhere you want to get to in Seoul. Tavel time is 30-45 minutes for most of them.
Just for reference, taking the subway from east or west seoul to central seoul takes 30-40 minutes. |

I've been living in Suwon several years. People here are the rudest compared to people I have met in many other towns like Jeounju, Chuncheon, Busan, and a few others. My advice is to find a school somewhere outside of Suwon. Only my wife is keeping me here. |

I believe there are two gates Namoon and Bookmoon.
When I was there Namoon was awesome. Tons of cool restaurants and a Woodstock bar with live music. |

I live in North Suwon and have found the people extremely nice. Additionally, there are many activities to keep people busy if that is what they desire, along with good shopping options. For those that like Costco it is only a 30 minute ride on the 3000 bus, and going to Seoul on the speed bus is very quick also. I do not know about all Suwon, but I have found North Suwon to be a wonderful area to live in. |
