I rarely feel sorry for kids here, since I think they bring on a lot of their punishments. But I had a student before that made me cringe, and wish someone would neuter his parents.
This kid was being groomed for success by his parents so much, it will be a miracle if he doesn't hang himself by the age of 18.
In my class, if he didn't get the highest test grade, he was beaten at home. My supervisor casually told me, as if it were something normal.
Next day, he came to school with cuts and bandaids all over his body. Apparently, his parents took him to a doctor to remove all the moles on his body.
Anyone else have students like this? |

Yep. I have had lots and lots and lots and lots of students like him.
It's a backwards place with some First World technology... |
