hahaha!!! OMG! My travel agent in Seoul today just quoted me a price of 831,000 won for the 5 day Chuseok holiday for Cebu. This is only air ticket, and she said that was the only availaable flight for Chuseok...and it's not even until September. |

Incheon to Manila Aug. 16th-24th, direct flight off of whypaymore.co.kr = 560,000 tax included.
Now just need the hotel...checking online has some expensive ones. I found a decent hotel in Bangkok online for less 20 bucks a night, now in Manilla it's around 30-40 or more a night for some ill reviewed hotels...
Easy to get a decent hotel without a reservation??
any ideas there? Thinking stay in Manilla a few days and then head to Angeles City for a few days and back to Manilla: this is the scouting vacation, just to get the lay of the land...Next time = adventure and beach.
EDIT: More info: Xanadu qouted 720,000 + tax (80,000 or so) for a flight. |

Any advice for getting to Palawan during the end of July/ early August? I found 874,000 to Manilla from GMP on Asiana's website. |

What kind of scouting mission are you on?
Angeles City is a city of prostitution.. no other reason to be there. You might want to review your itinerary unless that is your purpose.
Just letting you know.. not everyone does. |

Fly from Incheon (ICN) and look around for better pricing. You can usually get business class for that price. Economy should run in the neighborhood of 550k.
After you get to Manila you can easily catch flights from Air Philippines, Asian spirit, Cebu Pacific or SEAair depending on where in Palawan you are trying to get to.
Philippine domestic flights are cheap.

Thanks for the heads up; I'm sure my girlfriend would not be too pleased with that idea...
One of the hotels was offering a bus ride there for like 500 pesos, so I figured it must be popular: now I see why.
So where else to go outside of Manilla, but not too far? I'm not planning on taking any other flights, but don't mind a bus/taxi for a few hours away from the city. Any thoughts?? |

Puerto Galera's White Beach is good (for within distance of Manila).. it'll give you a small taste of what the many islands and beaches in the Visayas will be like if you make a return trip someday. |

Boracay is getting a bit too crowded and over commercialized; remember there are over 7,000 islands to choose from, why go to the one with all the Koreans crowding onto it? Try Panglao island off Bohol (fly to Cebu instead of Manila and take a boat to Tagbilaran).

Are you a Christian missionary?

If she's not coming along on the trip, no reason she has to know about it. If she's Korean, they know that's WHY their men go down to the Philippines anyways.... |

Does anyone know what the weather is like in Cebu/Manila/Boracay in mid October? Still really rainy? Is it worth booking a hotel near a beach? |

I believe the Philippine domestic carrier Asian Spirit has begun direct flights from Incheon to Kalibo, a two-hour drive to Boracay. The airfare is around 360,000 won excluding tax. |

You guys are all quoting ridiculously high. I've found flights+hotel for less than 300,000 won. Boracay, Cebu, and Manila. They can go up to 2,000,000 won but I'm just saying.
If you can read/type Korean, go to yahoo.com and just type in 필리핀 에어텔. Theres so many places to choose from.
Good luck! |

Asian Spirit now offers semi-direct flights to Kalibo, which is a two-hour drive away from Boracay.
The flight schedule is Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from Incheon at 8:15 a.m. The return flight is a bit trickier as it makes a brief stopover at Clark.

If you leave Oct. 1, you can get a roundtrip ticket to Kalibo from Incheon for 318,000 won INCLUDING tax (this is for a fixed stay of four nights and five days).
